The Intel Extreme Masters (IEM) has arrived at DreamHack Dallas and is a highlight of the 2022 esports calendar as the first major Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) international esports event to take place in North America since December 2019.

IEM Dallas 2022 is an S-tier tournament hosting 16 world-class esports teams with a prize pool of $250,000. The tournament precedes the highly anticipated BLAST Premier Spring Final, taking place in Lisbon on 15th June, which will see teams battle for a spot in the World Final later this year.

IEM Dallas 2022 - Schedule and Format

IEM Dallas 2022 will run from 30th May to 6th June 2022, split into two phases. The Group Stage concluded on 2nd June 2022 and will be followed by the IEM Dallas Playoffs, starting from 3rd - 5th June 2022 in the arena at the DreamHack Dallas event.

Group Stage

The Group Stage featured 16 teams divided equally into two groups, competing in a double-elimination format. The opening matches of the Group Stage were played as a BO1, and all remaining games were played as a BO3.

The teams placing in the top three of each group advanced to the Playoffs. These are the results from the Group Stage:

Group A

  • 1st - ENCE
  • 2nd - FaZe Clan
  • 3rd - G2 Esports

Group B

  • 1st - BIG
  • 2nd - FURIA Esports
  • 3rd - Cloud9

The seeding for the Playoffs was as follows: Group Stage winners advanced to the Semifinals, and runner-ups (i.e., teams placed 2nd and 3rd in each group) advanced to the Quarterfinals as the high and low seeds, respectively.

Playoffs

The IEM Dallas Playoffs will see the top six teams compete in a single-elimination bracket. The Quarterfinals and Semifinals matches will be played as BO3, while the Grand Final will be played as a BO5.

The schedule for the Playoffs is indicated below (all times are in British Summer Time).

IEM Dallas 2022 will feature a total prize pool of $250,000. The distribution of prize money is indicated below.

  • 1st - $100,000
  • 2nd - $42,000
  • 3rd to 4th - $20,000
  • 5th to 6th - $10,000
  • 7th to 8th - $6,000
  • 9th to 12th - $5,000
  • 13th to 16th - $4,000

The teams placing in the top 12 will also earn Tournament Circuit Points toward the ESL Pro  Tour and BLAST Premier leagues.
