Audiences will soon be preparing for yet another trip to the dystopian metropolitan location of Night City, but it will be on small screens. Indeed, we'll get even more comfortable in this infamous city as streamer Netflix announced a new collaboration with video game developer CD Projekt RED.

This news was made during the final day of Netflix's annual fandom celebration event, Geeked Week, which concluded with a live audience showcase this past week. While the jury is out on what we can anticipate, the internet has been discussing what this new collaboration may be.

At their Geeked Week festivities, Netflix announced that they'll be teaming up with CD Projekt RED in a new project falling under the Netflix Animation banner. This was revealed in a new teaser video during Geeked Week, along with the caption "Stay tuned," we can confirm that audiences are heading back to Night City, but what awaits us upon our return?

However, no further details or confirmation on this new anime project, whether this may be growing the Edgerunners series (for potential spin-offs) or something completely new. It was last month (August 2024) that the Polish developer confirmed that they're "definitely" working on expanding the Cyberpunk world across other media forms like film and television, but details were unclear until now with Netflix's announcement.

We became aware that Edgerunners would not be continuing past its first season following a Famitsu interview with CDPR's Japan country manager, Satoru Honma; however, they are looking to flourish its universe in similar projects. "We are definitely planning to do more in terms of animation with Cyberpunk, so I hope that's enough as an answer," CDPR co-CEO Michał Nowakowski answered in the earnings call.

"So expect to see more for sure, but that's as far as I can go right now." Taking those words to heart, it's confirmed that we're anticipating more Cyberpunk content, but what the project may be and if Studio Trigger will be involved remains unknown.
