The Dark Pictures Anthology: Directive 8020 Trailer Leaked

With gameplay for Supermassive Games' upcoming horror title, The Dark Pictures Anthology: The Devil in Me, recently being leaked, more information about the video game company's next project has been unveiled. In line with previous installments, The Devil in Me features another teaser trailer within the game, hinting to players about what they can expect next.

On 17 November 2022, YouTube creator "Slimpy" uploaded the official trailer detailing The Dark Pictures Anthology's Season Two Premiere: Directive 8020. Although there's not much to go by from the trailer itself, it's evident that the next upcoming game from Supermassive Games will be a sci-fi horror title reminiscent of the Dead Space franchise or even The Callisto Protocol.

The Dark Pictures Anthology: Directive 8020 seems to be a sci-fi horror game reminiscent of the Dead Space franchise or The Callisto Protocol.

The trailer showcased a bit about the upcoming game's narrative and overall setting. Accordingly, it seems that Directive 8020 takes place on another distant planet called Tau Ceti F near the Cetus constellation, where astronauts and several research staff are working to create a habitable environment for humanity to live in.

In the trailer, the adventurers are aboard the forward reconnaissance vessel Cassiopeia as they rendezvous with the Charybdis marker (an alien planet?), which Commander Stafford leads.

But during the trip, the ship suffers damage to its hull, prompting technicians to resolve the issue and restore it to full functionality. However, a crew member later interjects the transmission, claiming something is wrong.

Accordingly, Thomas Carter, supposedly another crewmember, reports that somebody named Simms was trying to kill them. The reason for this is unknown, but it's likely to assume the planet or Charybdis marker might influence the crewmember's minds or possibly that there's a killer onboard the Cassiopeia.

Directive 8020's official narrative and gameplay should be revealed as more information is debuted with time. Therefore, these assumptions should be taken with a grain of salt. For more information, watch the leaked teaser trailer of Directive 2080 above.
