How To Counter The Deathslinger In Dead By Daylight

Here's your guide on how to counter The Deathslinger in Dead by Daylight as a survivor player.
How To Counter The Deathslinger In Dead By Daylight

The Deathslinger's power in Dead by Daylight has changed a lot over the years, with his terror radius varying in size as he is nerfed and buffed. His strength has tumbled from A Tier down to C Tier after many changes to his kit. Still, The Deathslinger can be a challenging killer to go against when played by a strong player. Here's how to counter The Deathslinger so you can escape against even the strongest killer players.

Keep Moving Against The Deathslinger

The Deathslinger's harpoon gun is most effective at medium-long range, so keep moving and avoid standing still for too long. Try to stay behind objects or in tight spaces to make it harder for him to hit you. The more you move, the harder it is for the killer player to aim and land a hit on you. It's also a good idea to avoid open spaces since it's easier for him to hit you with his long-ranged shots.

Use Walls And Obstacles To Your Advantage

Use the environment to your advantage by staying behind objects or in tight spaces to make it harder for The Deathslinger to hit you. Remember, though, that The Deathslinger can use his harpoon gun to hit you through windows, so they aren't a particularly safe place when playing against him. Instead, it's a better idea to put pallets, walls, and other obstacles between you and the killer.

Drop Pallets Early Against The Deathslinger

The Deathslinger's power won't be able to hit you if there is a downed pallet between you and the killer, so dropping pallets early against The Deathslinger is often a wise move. Even if you can't stun the killer using the pallet, it's smart to use them as a barrier between you and the killer, preventing him from hitting you with his harpoon gun. Don't worry too much about wasting pallets by dropping them early; while it's a bad idea to drop pallets early against some killers, The Deathslinger is not one of them. It's not a waste if it saves you from getting hit or extends your chase just a little bit longer!

That's all you need to know to counter The Deathslinger in Dead by Daylight. Good luck in the fog!
