Dead By Daylight has hundreds of cosmetics for killers and survivors to choose from, including both licensed and original sets, allowing you to fully customize your character's appearance. You can purchase cosmetics in-game with both Iridescent Shards (an earnable currency) and Auric Cells (a purchasable currency).
Choosing your own set of cosmetics before you head into a trial is integral to the DBD experience, so some players wonder - can you gift cosmetics to friends in Dead by Daylight? Here's the answer to this super common question.
Can You Gift Cosmetics In Dead By Daylight?
Unfortunately, there's no way to gift cosmetics directly to other players in Dead by Daylight.
In Dead by Daylight's official FAQ, developers address cosmetic gifting. This is a common fan-requested feature; however, developers say that they won't currently add it to the game because of "time constraints."
"We are aware that this is a popular community wish, and while it is something we'd like to implement, due to time constraints, it's not currently being planned," the FAQ states.
You also cannot gift Auric Cells or Iridescent Shards to friends, ruling out the possibility of indirectly gifting cosmetics as well.
That said, there are still a few ways that you may be able to send over a cosmetic to your friends.
How To Gift Cosmetics In Dead By Daylight
While you can't directly gift cosmetics in DBD, you can gift DLC packs through Steam. Just purchase the DLC pack of your choice and select 'Buy as a gift' before picking your friend's name. This is one simple way to send cosmetics to your friends, but note that you'll have to buy the entire DLC, and both you and your friend will need to play DBD on Steam.
If you and your friend don't both play Dead by Daylight on Steam, you can always buy a gift card for their platform of choice (PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, etc.) or send them money directly through Cash App, Venmo, or PayPal to purchase Auric Cells for the cosmetics.
While you can't officially gift cosmetics in Dead by Daylight, there are still a few workarounds that players can use to send over gifts to their friends. If you want to send cosmetics in DBD, you can try the suggestions we've listed until Behaviour (hopefully) eventually adds this highly fan-requested feature.
