In Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor, players will be pushing their way through a number of floors, destroying enemy alien bugs as they go. Once you reach the very bottom of your dive, you'll need to defeat the Dreadnought — a massive, and very deadly, alien bug.

The Dreadnought can deal a lot of damage to you in a very short space of time, so you'll not only need to be prepared, but know how to avoid every hit. Below, we'll go over exactly how to improve your chances when it comes to killing the Dreadnought.

How To Kill The Dreadnought In Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor — Best Class, Weapons, Strategy

If you're in the early game, you might have made it to the bottom of the dive and come face-to-face with the Dreadnought already. But it's likely you met your end fairly swiftly. That's because you'll need to have progressed through a number of upgrades beforehand to improve your chances of survival.

We recommend taking on the Dreadnought as the Engineer. That's because his deployable turrets, and "Warthog" Auto 210 are great at dealing continuous damage, while keeping the smaller creatures at bay.

Level up the Engineer's turrets as best you can, while putting additional levels and upgrades into the Warthog, your health, and armor where available. If you're particularly lucky, you might get some higher grade upgrades come your way.

Best Strategy To Kill The Dreadnought

Before the Dreadnought hatches from its giant egg, you'll first need to go around the map and destroy the three smaller eggs. Each one will contain an Elite bug, so be prepared to take these on too. These Elites will hatch automatically overtime, but if you've got the power, get rid of them as soon as you can and harvest their XP.

Next, you'll want to mine away any Red Sugar you see, particularly if you don't need it yet. If you've already got full health, the Red Sugar will drop to the floor and remain there. This means you can collect it later when you need it, and without waiting to mine it away — handy for when the Dreadnought is chasing you. You can also use this time to collect any XP and gain some last-minute levels and perks.

Once you've prepared as much as you can, you can either wait for the Dreadnought to hatch on its own, or trigger it early by destroying its egg. This is where the fight gets difficult.

Dreadnought Attack Pattern

The Dreadnought's leaping attack is what you'll need to look out for. (Picture: Funday Games, screenshot: Alexandra Hobbs)

The main attack you'll need to look out for is its big leaping attack. If you're in the Dreadnought's path, it'll leap over you and take out a significant portion of your health. Realistically, you'll only be able to survive a few of these if they hit but you can avoid them altogether.

The Dreadnought will jump in a straight line, and you'll know when the attack is coming as it'll pause in place for a brief moment. When the Dreadnought does this, move perpendicular to its path and you should avoid any damage. If you're using the Engineer, this is a great time to turn and face the Dreadnought and have the Warthog fire bullets directly at it. Any turrets you have should be automatically deploying and firing at nearby creatures, including the Dreadnought.

Keep using this tactic and eventually you'll have depleted the Dreadnought's health down to zero.

That's all for how to defeat the Dreadnought in Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor. Be sure to also check out our guide on how to unlock every weapon in the game.
