Destiny 2 Dawning Event 2023: Quests, Rewards, Event Challenges, More

Destiny 2 has a handful of seasonal events that rotate annually with new activities, quests, and rewards. From Solstice of Heroes in the scorching summer to Festival of the Lost in the spooky fall and the Dawning in the freezing winter, these themed free-for-all events are a great way to celebrate with fellow Guardians and earn some cool new rewards.

Every year, The Dawning event in Destiny 2 helps spread the holiday spirit by covering the Tower with Christmas decorations and bringing back everyone's favorite seasonal vendor Eva Levante, who will no doubt task guardians with finding ingredients for her Dawning Recipes List.

Destiny 2 Dawning Event 2023 - Start Date & Time

The Dawning 2023 kicked off on 12 December 2023. While not confirmed, the event should conclude on 2 January 2024.

The Dawning 2023 Quests & Rewards

The Dawning quest once again involves baking cookies and gifting them to different NPCs in exchange for rewards. Baking cookies requires Dawning resources like Chitin Powder and Cabal Oil, which you can earn by playing various in-game activities. You could also check our full Dawning recipe list for more info.

The Dawning 2023 Weapons

 The Dawning 2023 adds a new hard-hitting Glaive called the Albedo Wing. It's a wintry-themed Glaive with a white feather imprinted on its blade and is arguably the best-looking Glaive in Destiny 2 so far. 

The Albedo Wing rolls with one of the new Dawning perks called Beacon Rounds, which grants your weapon projectile tracking on final blows. 

Speaking of perks, below are all the Dawning 2023 weapon perks you can roll. 

Deconstruct

• • Dealing sustained damage grants bonus damage against vehicles and constructs and partially refills the magazine. Damage with Primary ammo or against constructs provides additional progress.
  • Constructs include barricades, turrets, Stasis crystals, and other objects created in the field.

Attrition Orbs

• • Dealing sustained damage creates an Orb of Power.

Cold Steel

• • Powered Sword hits slow targets.

Beacon Rounds

• • Final blows with this weapon grant your projectiles tracking. Dealing further damage extends the duration.

Dawning Surprise – Origin Trait

• • Rapidly defeating targets awards a Dawning gift. Defeated powerful targets count as more than one.

You can get Albedo Wing by opening Dawning engrams, Focusing weapons, and completing Event Challenges.

There's also a new Dawning Memento, which you can earn by picking up the Winter Night quest from Eva Levante in the Tower.

The Dawning 2023 Event Challenges & Rewards

Like every other seasonal event in Destiny 2, The Dawning 2023 adds an event card with event challenges. You can complete these challenges to unlock new weapons, armor and cosmetic items. 

The Dawning Upgraded Event Card Rewards

The Upgraded Event Card costs 1000 Silver. Here are the rewards you can earn from it: 

• Angelic Wings (Exotic Emote)
• Frostflower (Exotic Vehicle)
• Dawning Elan (Legendary Shader)
• Ornamental Shell (Exotic Ghost Shell)
• Slippery Patch (Legendary Emote)
• Festive Entrance (Legendary Transmat Effect)
• Tundra Guide (Legendary Ghost Projection)
