Destiny 2 Season of Plunder continues with new seasonal missions every week and new opportunities for you to go on treasure-hunting adventures.
As with every new Destiny 2 season, the Season of Plunder introduces a bunch of new currencies and resources, some of which are a little more mysterious than others. One such resource is Crude Cipher fragments.
If you have no idea what to do with those ciphers sitting in your inventory or are oblivious to the fact that they exist, fret not. Our guide here explains how to use Crude Ciphers in Destiny 2.
How to get Crude Cipher in Destiny 2 Season of Plunder
First thing first, what exactly is a Crude Cipher? Well, they are map fragments you get during the Cryptic Quatrains quest in Destiny 2 Season of Plunder.
Cryptic Quatrains, as the name suggests, is a series of riddle quests you unlock after reaching rank 7 on the Star Chart in the HELM. Completing these quests will reward you with Crude Cipher fragments.

Once you have acquired the Crude Cipher fragments, you will have to combine them and slot them in a treasure map slot in the Captain's Atlas.
If you read the Cryptic Quatrains III riddle hint carefully, you will find out that the next step is to combine the Crude Cipher fragments and place them in the Captain Atlas. This will guide you toward your next objective.
And that's pretty much it. The purpose of the Crude Cipher in Destiny 2 is to unlock new compartments within the Captain Atlas and progress the Cryptic Quatrains seasonal quest in Destiny 2 Season of Plunder.
