Do you want to find the rare Decaying Steed mount in Diablo 4 but don't have a clue where to start looking? Then we've got you covered, Nephalem!

In this article, we explain exactly how you can get the Reins of the Decaying Steed item to drop in Diablo 4, unlocking the rather gruesome mount that we are sure The Butcher would look fantastic riding...so let's get started.

Diablo 4 Decaying Steed Mount: How To Get

First and foremost, to actually use the Decaying Steed, you will need to unlock mounts in Diablo 4. We believe most players have already completed this step. It is also important to note that you do not have to complete the first step in order to get the drop; you just can't ride the mount until you've unlocked the ability.

With that out of the way, you can get the Decaying Steed mount from Treasure Goblins across Sanctuary. To be clear, ONLY Treasure Goblins have a chance of dropping the Reins of the Decaying Steed item. It appears as a common white item on the ground, so be vigilant and look closely at the drops after killing a Treasure Goblin.

This is an ultra-rare drop, so you might need to slay dozens of Treasure Goblins to find one. Rumor has it there's a rare type of Cellar that features roughly six to ten Treasure Goblins.

Since Treasure Goblins can spawn in Dungeons, Nightmare Dungeons, anywhere in the world, and in Cellars, we suggest just playing the game normally for a chance at getting the Decaying Steed mount. There's no way to find it faster, as this drop depends not only on random Treasure Goblin spawns but also on the small chance of them actually dropping it.

Good luck, Nephalem; you are going to need it! Check out the video below where Karpo Gaming got the Decaying Steed drop!

So there you have it, a way to get the Decaying Steed mount in Diablo 4. Sure, it might take a long while, but this is one of the rarest and most awesome-looking mounts currently in Sanctuary, so the grind might be worth it.
