Delve deeper into this article to uncover what the Diablo 4 Poisoned Hearts quest entails. To jog your memory, the previous quest had you inform Vera of Aneta's disappearance. However, after being guided by Suzana to help ailing Aneta, you learn she was not cursed. Now, the saga continues, and the plot intensifies.

Diablo 4: How To Complete Poisoned Hearts Side Quest

To start the Poisoned Hearts side quest in Diablo 4, you must speak to Vera, who you will find waiting for your arrival in the same location where you boiled the Spider Venom in the previous chapter.

She will accuse you of helping Aneta. To the left of the pot, you will find Aneta's Keepsake. Collect it, and then you will have the task of finding the ever-elusive Aneta.

With her keepsake in hand, you will have to head east, where you will have to extinguish three Strange Braziers. They are all situated extremely close to one another, so killing the flames won't take long. Once done, Aneta will be able to move freely again.

Once free, speak to Aneta and ask her if she is alright. Then, give her the keepsake. Next, Gulyas will appear. Speak to him and choose the "What must we do? " dialog option. You will then have to gather Rotten Livers to perform a ritual to help Aneta.

You will have to find four of these Rotten Livers nearby. However, while you search for them, Aneta will inform you that Gulyas has been good to her. You should find the first two Rotten Livers easy to locate, which you'll do relatively uncontested.

However, you may encounter some enemies upon locating the third Rotten Liver. Draw your weapon and slay them quickly. Afterward, continue your search for the final Rotten Liver. Once you have found it, enter the Hidden Glade.

Once inside, follow Aneta as she runs to place the Rotten Livers in the bowl to begin the ritual. Once the ceremony starts, a plague of serpents, spiders, and other undesirables will be drawn to you. Neither of them are friendly. So, kill them all as the ritual proceeds. 

Once you defeat the waves of enemies, you will be confronted by Vera and Hateful Villagers. Quickly dispatch them. Once you do this, Vass will blame Vera for all that has transpired. Aneta will then burn Vass, leaving Vera to run off, with Aneta following close behind. 

Follow them, and you will find that Vera has died, leaving Aneta distraught. You will then have to meet up with Gulyas, who will inform you that Aneta has long gone but not before leaving a message just for you.

Read the letter to complete the Poisoned Hearts side quest in Diablo 4. Doing so will give you 20 Hawezar Renown, 58,800 XP, and 3600 Gold. And that concludes The Heretic questline. Now, you can continue by pursuing the next chapter: Necrotic Research.
