Diablo 4 Scattered Prisms: How To Get & Uses

Do you want to farm more Scattered Prisms in Diablo 4 quickly, or have you found one and want to know what it is used for? Fear not, Nephalem, as we've got you covered.

This guide explains how you get Diablo 4's very rare Scattered Prisms resource and what it is used for at the Jeweler, so let's not waste any more time!

Update on 18 July 2023: We've updated this article with the latest info on farming Scattered Prisms in Diablo 4.

What Are Scattered Prisms Used For in Diablo 4?

First, a bit of lore to get the blood flowing, as a Scattered Prism is explained as:

A mysterious prism most often found in very, very large bodies, such as world bosses. Rare and often hoarded by their previous owners, these prisms are often guarded jealously.

This rare crafting resource in Diablo 4 is used for one purpose only; to add sockets to your items, including Legendaries. At the Jeweler, you will only need one Scattered Prism to add a socket to your item, but since these are tough to farm, we do recommend waiting until deep in the endgame to use them on top-tier items only.

To get Scattered Prisms, you will need to get lucky with drops from Treasure Goblins. Since Treasure Goblins spawn very randomly and do not always drop Scattered Prisms, this is not a great way of farming Diablo 4's very rare crafting resource.

Instead, we recommend slaying the three world bosses once they spawn, as world bosses, including Avarice, Ashava, and Wandering Death, all drop Scattered Prisms. Our guides below tell you the locations, spawn times, and how to beat every world boss in Diablo 4, so check them out.

At the time of writing, this is the only way to get/farm Scattered Prisms in Diablo 4, but there might be some more undiscovered ways, so we will keep you in the loop to help with your farming endeavors.

That's everything you need to know about farming more Scattered Prisms in Diablo 4, from how you can get them to the very rare resource's usage. If anything changes, we will update this article faster than the Wandering Death can kill players with its green beams of death...
