Diablo 4 World Tier 5 Difficulty Release, Capstone Dungeon & More

Looking for answers about Diablo 4's possible World Tier 5 difficulty level? Then you've come to the right place! Yes, Diablo 4 in Season 2 still has four World Tiers to complete, but a fifth one will be released eventually.

This guide explains everything we know about Diablo 4's World Tier 5 (Hell?) difficulty, from its speculated release date to the Capstone Dungeon you must complete and more, so let's get started.

Update on 6 November 2023: We can confirm that World Tier 5 difficulty won't release with Diablo 4 Season 2. There have, however, been several Diablo 4 World Tier difficulty changes.

Blizzard has also not revealed a new Diablo 4 World Tier difficulty at BlizzCon 2023, but did announce the Vessel of Hatred expansion.

Diablo 4 World Tier 5 Release Date Speculation

There are two options for the Diablo 4 World Tier 5 release date window, either at the start of a new season or when an expansion releases much later.

Diablo 4's first third is expected to kick off in mid January 2024, but don't hold your breath for World Tier 5 difficulty.

We believe that adding a new World Tier difficulty for Diablo 4 will take a lot of time to release, with the earliest possible release, in our opinion, being with Season 3 in January 2024.

There is datamined evidence that World Tier 5 exists in the game's files, alongside new ranks of Gems. Diablo 4's World Tier 5 difficulty is a given, to be honest, but the release window is anyone's guess at this point.

How To Unlock Diablo 4 World Tier 5 (Hell) Difficulty

Before the release of Diablo 4, test builds, and their UIs did show five World Tiers, namely Adventurer, Veteran, Nightmare, Hell, and Torment. In betas and on release, this changed, with World Tier 4 being renamed Torment and Ancestral item drops being moved to Torment.

We, therefore, suspect that World Tier 5, when released, will be called "Hell" difficulty. Previous test builds also had info on how you can unlock World Tier 5 in Diablo 4 by completing the Capstone dungeon Archives of Issalia.

This dungeon is not currently in the game, as it was removed sometime during development. At the time of writing, it is unclear what level players will need to reach to complete the Archives of Issalia Capstone dungeon when it releases.
