In this guide, we tell Nephalem how they can join a Diablo 3 Echoing Nightmare event in Season 26, the rewards they can acquire including a brand-new gem, and how they can farm more Petrified Screams.
How to join the Diablo 3 Echoing Nightmare event

At the start of Season 26, or via the Diablo 3 PTR which is open at the time of writing, players can join in on the Echoing Nightmare event, testing their mettle against some of the toughest foes from the Burning Hells.
- Is Diablo 4 coming to Xbox Game Pass?
- All Diablo 3 Season 26 Greater Rift changes
- World First Diablo 2 Resurrected holy grail challenge completed
- Grandson shares story of grandfather's injury whilst playing Diablo II: Resurrected
There are some caveats regarding joining the Diablo 3 Echoining Nightmare. For example, Echoing Nightmare can only be joined with a seasonal character, aka a Season 26 character.
This is an endgame activity, so level up and do some Greater Rifts before even attempting it. Read about the requirements to join an Echoing Nightmare below:
- Petrified Screams and the Echoing Nightmare can only be accessed with seasonal characters.
- Only one player is required to transmute a Petrified Scream to open an Echoing Nightmare in a multiplayer game.
- Similar to a boss encounter, all players in a multiplayer game must accept a prompt to enter.
So you need a Petrified Scream to join an Echoing Nightmare, right? But how do you get more Petrified Screams in Diablo 3 Season 26?
How to get more Petrified Screams in Diablo 3 Seasonal Events

Players will need to have a Diablo 3 Season 26 seasonal character to get Petrified Scream drops.
While Petrified Screams is a rare item, completing high-level Greater Rifts is your best bet. They also have a good drop chance after completing an Echoing Nightmare.
