Alliance and Team Liquid set to clash in MDL Chengdu qualifier

The pressure is on for the roster that left Alliance for Team Liquid and the organisation's newest lineup as they play for a spot in the first DPC 2019-20 Major.
Alliance and Team Liquid set to clash in MDL Chengdu qualifier

The MDL Chengdu Major Europe Closed Qualifier will see a brawl between Alliance and Team Liquid for the first spot in the MDL Chengdu Major for the region.

By winning their initial matches, both Alliance and Team Liquid are in contention for the Major spot awarded to the Upper Bracket Final team that is victorious.

The loser will have one final chance to qualify for Chengdu against the lower bracket winner, either Ninjas in Pyjamas or Team Singularity. They will join the loser of that match, if they also lose, at the DOTA The Summit 11 Europe Qualifier as a top four finish in the qualifier awarded a slot there. DPC points will also be available at both events, with a minimum of 20 DPC points coming from a last place finish at the Summit Qualifier and a maximum of 4850 if either team made an incredible run and won MDL Chengdu next month.

There is more than just a slot on the line in the match between Alliance and Team Liquid. The current Team Liquid squad left the Alliance organisation last month for their new home, leaving their former organisation to find a new team to field for the upcoming Dota Pro Circuit season. Having picked up a team with two former Alliance players in it led by Adrian "Fata" Trinks, Alliance were looking to recapture past glory in a new squad.

With Team Liquid looking to beat their former organisation and Alliance looking to prove they can be just as strong as the old TI9 lineup, there will be a lot of tension on the server when they meet tomorrow at 12:00 BST / 07:00 EST. The best-of-three match is expected to be broadcast on the BeyondTheSummit5 Twitch channel.
