Ever since the enigmatic IceFrog revealed the next big Dota 2 update (7.27) would arrive in multiple parts, fans have been waiting for the hero balance changes.
While 7.27a was disappointing, only changing two items, the massive new Dota 2 7.27b update makes balance changes to every hero in the game, and five items...
New Dota 2 update 7.27b
Valve unleashed this big new Dota 2 update in the early hours of the morning on 16th July, exactly one month after IceFrog teased the update. The patch notes are, without exaggerating, insanely big. This is due Valve making balance changes to every hero in the game.
In a strange coincidence, the update web notes didn't go live for a few hours, as the page cut off at "C", which is the third letter of the alphabet. This, of course, led to jokes about Gabe "GabeN" Newell and his avoidance of the number "3".
C is the third letter though 🤔

Is this a message GabeN?
With some fun coincidence (or is it?) out of the way, let's first take a look at the item balance changes in the new Dota 2 update 7.27b.
Item balance in Dota 2 update 7.27b
There are only five item balance changes in the new Dota 2 update. Check them out below.
Echo Sabre:
- Can now be disassembled
Veil of Discord:
- Can now be applied on invulnerable units
Monkey King Bar:
- Recipe cost increased from 350 to 550
Orchid of Malevolence:
- Attack speed reduced from 30 to 25
Hand of Midas:
- Recipe cost reduced from 1850 to 1750
While these adjustments aren't all too big, the Echo Sabre change is a nice touch, and long overdue.
Dota 2 update 7.27b hero balance changes
Since the Dota 2 update 7.27b hero balance changes are so massive in patch note size it caused issues on the official Dota 2 blog, we won't attempt to paste it all below. Instead, you can view the entire patch notes on the official website, and five hero balance changes below.
Bloodseeker:
Medusa:
Razor:
Tiny:
Sven:
These are just five of over a hundred hero balance changes in the Dota 2 update 7.27b. We wanted balance changes, and oh boy, we definitely got some.
