PGL Wallachia S1 Guide: Teams, Format, Schedule & Streams

It's an exciting time for Dota 2 esports fans, as 16 of the best teams in the world are set to compete at PGL Wallachia Season 1, a huge LAN event taking place in Bucharest, Romania, at the PGL Studios venue. 

Here's what you need to know about PGL Wallachia Season 1, from the event format and schedule to the participating teams and how you can watch all the action live.

PGL Wallachia Season 1 Schedule & Format

PGL Wallachia Season 1 is scheduled to run from 10 to 19 May 2024. At the time of writing, precise start times and match schedules are unavailable. We will update this section once we have confirmed info about start times.

As for the tournament format, it starts with a Modified Swiss-System format for the Group Stage, featuring one huge group of all 16 teams. All matches are best-of-three (BO3) in this stage of the competition. The top eight teams from the Group Stage advance to the playoffs, while the rest are eliminated. 

In the PGL Wallachia Season 1 playoff, the format is a standard double-elimination bracket, where all matches are BO3, except for the Grand Final, which is BO5.

Teams Competing at PGL Wallachia Season 1

There's been quite a bit of fuss over PGL Wallachia Season 1's team lineup. The eight invited teams, as seen above, remain the same, but two of the original qualified teams are unable to attend.

Tundra Esports could not make the event in Bucharest, Romania, due to a failure to get visas for all their players, and then OG declined the invitation, so MOUZ stepped in. Then, we have Blacklist International from the SEA region, who also couldn't secure visas. Blacklist International is replaced with Chinese powerhouse Azure Ray.

As of 7 May 2024, the team list for PGL Wallachia Season 1 is as follows:

There do not appear to be any other teams who have failed to secure visas for the event, so this should be the final team list.
