The fact of the matter is there are a lot of bosses in Elden Ring. Each boss will have its way to defeat it, giving players a unique challenge for every fight. There are very few repeats when it comes to the bosses, and when there are, there is a twist added to keep the fights feeling fresh for the players.

In total, there are 238 bosses in Elden Ring. This is a staggering amount considering that FromSoftware bosses are famous for being difficult. There is a large number of small dungeons hidden throughout the game, and there is often a boss guarding that dungeon. The amount of bosses makes exploring the map of Elden Ring worth it.

What Are The Required Bosses In Elden Ring?

Although there are 238 bosses in Elden Ring, you do not have to defeat every single boss. A vast majority of the bosses in Elden Ring can be skipped if you are focusing on completing the main story of the game. There are only 13 required bosses to face in Elden Ring. Here is a list of the required bosses in Elden Ring:

  • Margit, the Fell Omen
  • Godrick the Grafted
  • Red Wolf of Radagon
  • Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon
  • Godfrey, First Elden Lord (Golden Shade Version)
  • Morgott, the Omen King
  • Fire Giant
  • Godskin Duo
  • Maliketh, the Black Blade
  • Sir Gideon Ofnir, the All-Knowing
  • Godfre, First Elden Lord/Horah Loux, Warrior
  • Radagon of the Golden Order
  • Elden Beast

As you can see, some of the more famous bosses, like Malenia, are not even required for players to go against to beat Elden Ring. Players can skip a large majority of the bosses in Elden Ring and still beat the game. So long as you defeat the above 13 bosses, you can skip the other 225 bosses in Elden Ring.
