With a brand new ESO Chapter on the horizon, there'll be new zones and areas to explore. Here's what we know so far about the zones of the Gold Road Chapter.

Bethesda

During Bethesda's ESO Global Reveal event on January 18, 2024, it was revealed that the next upcoming Chapter is titled Gold Road. Here, it was revealed that a fogotten Daedric Prince, Ithelia, has been uncovered, and that the threat she poses to Tamriel is unlike anything we've ever seen.

Fans were given a glimpse at some of the content set to arrive with the launch of The Elder Scrolls Online: Gold Road, and in the run-up to release, including details on new and returning zones that we'll be exploring during our adventures. Below, we'll take a look at all of the zones and areas that have been announced so far.

The West Weald zone is a brand new area coming to ESO in the Gold Road Chapter. According to Bethesda, this zone will introduce "brand-new locations, characters, challenges, rewards, and stories." But for some, this new zone will have a familiar feel to it.

If you've played The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, you might recognize parts of this zone. That's because the West Weald is located in the southeastern part of Cyrodiil, which we saw back in the 2006 title. The area appears to be a lush, autumnal region, so expect plenty of forest areas and stunning landscapes.

Gold Road

The Chapter's titular area. The Gold Road is found to the southeast, with climate similar to that of the Gold Coast. It's here that players will be led to the Chapter's main city — Skingrad.

Skingrad

We know that West Weald is home to Skingrad, which we saw in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. In the upcoming Chapter, this city serves as the region's capital and is home to the Colovian Imperials. Veteren Elder Scrolls players will recognize some of the city's landmarks, including the The Great Chapel of Julianos and Castle Skingrad

Dawnwood

This area is close to the neighbouring region of Valenwood, so players can expect to see more greenery and encroaching jungles this far south. Dawnwood was previously under Imperial control, though it seems it's been largely left to the wilderness.

Other West Weald Locations

Other locations include Vashabar, a wood elf settlement hidden in the dense jungle of Dawnwood. The Colovian Highlands, found to the north of the West Weald and home to an Imperial settlement amongst a mountainous region. Wildburn, an area that separates Dawnwood from the Colovian Highlands and Gold Road. It seems this region will be home to some of the Chapter's nastier creatures.

We anticipate that certain quests building up to the Gold Road Chapter will take players to the West Weald's neighbouring regions, such as Valenwood, Elswyr, and other parts of Cyrodill like the Gold Coast.
