ESO Necrom Tome Of Unknown Color Locations: How To Find All Apocrypha Spectral Books

Throughout Apocrypha and the Telvanni Peninsula, there are many captivating views to spot and hidden locations to seek out, which may come with their own unique set of tasks or challenges. These exploration quests can help you learn more about these locations and the ongoing threat made against Hermaeus Mora.

For one, there's a unique collection of Spectral Books or Tome of Unknown Color as they’re known in-game, which you can collect to unlock one of the game’s new Achievements. So, get your adventurer’s boots on as we’ve detailed where to find the Spectral Books in ESO: Necrom.

Where To Find All Apocrypha Spectral Books In ESO Necrom

These Spectral Books, known as the Tome of Unknown Color, are primarily located within Apocrypha, for which you can reach this location from Keywrights Gallery or traveling to a Wayshrine in Apocrypha. We advise traveling to the Forlorn Palisades, Still Shallows, or the Apogee Nadir Wayshrines on the northwest side of Apocrypha to begin looking for the books.

There are five Spectral Books to locate and collect in Apocrypha, many of which can be found on the ground or pedestals. However, you’ll need to find any one of these books to begin the collection as there’s no set path to finding them. You’ll need to interact with the book to mark it as found; we’ve detailed all known locations below:

Tome Of Unknown Color #1 Location:

As we’ve traveled to the Apogee Nadir Wayshrine as the starting point, our first Spectral book is located slightly southwest of this Wayshrine. There are two ways of finding this Spectral Book: head straight and over the bridge before making a quick left burn after the bridge.

The other option is to turn left before the bridge and wrap around the cliffs to reach the first location. You’ll discover the Versicolor Carrels, for which the Tome of Unknown Color can be spotted on a pedestal underneath an archway.

Tome Of Unknown Color #2 Location:

The next Spectral Book is not far from the first book’s location, as you’ll need to head north toward the Fallen Hues Edifice. While not entering this dungeon, make your way around this location to its eastern side, where you can find another archway and a pedestal in its center, where the second book can be found.

Tome Of Unknown Color #3 Location:

From the second’s book location, head east past the Apogee Nadir Wayshrine, where you’ll find the Study of the Lost Cipher. Cross the bridge halfway before looking to your left to find a small island where you can find the third Tome of Unknown Color on the pedestal.

Tome Of Unknown Color #4 Location:

The following location of the fourth Tome of Unknown Color is north of the Study of the Lost Cipher and the last book’s location. You’ll pass the Forlorn Palisades Wayshrine on your right, where you find an open field across from the Wayshrine, where if you look carefully, you’ll find the archway atop a hill and the next Spectral Book too.

Tome Of Unknown Color #5 Location:

The last location is on the north side of Apocrypha, as you’ll need to locate the Still Shadows Wayshrine as a reference point. From the Wayshrine, move west by hugging close to the cliffs where you can spot the archway on your right, and interacting with the book completes this exploration quest.

Remember that you’ll encounter a handful of enemies while seeking out the Tomes of Unknown Color. Completing this exploration quest will unlock one of the game’s new Achievements, Tomes of Unknown Color, for your efforts.
