Now that Fall Guys has finally released, over 1.5 million players have entered the fight for first place in the wacky battle royale-style game. Playing a series of minigames with the aim to be the last jellybean standing at the end of it all, there’s a lot to learn if you want to be the best. Here’s how to win at Block Party.

Fall Guys’ Block Party is a relatively-simple minigame, but it’s one that can definitely catch you out if you’re not prepared. The concept: stay on the platform and avoiding slow-moving blocks that will attempt to push you off the stage.

Block Party is a survival game, so it’s all about just waiting out the clock, or waiting out the other players. Many times we play Block Party, only a handful of Fall Guys will be eliminated, so here are some essential tips for making sure you stay safe.

Firstly, stay near the back of the platform. From your vantage point here, you can see all incoming blocks and there’s more than enough time to avoid them. You should also take particular care not to become trapped when blocks form up to create a cup shape - instead, just stay well clear of the whole formation.

As seen in many online videos, some players like to find their way onto the outside walls, bypassing the game entirely. This can be done by hopping onto a fellow player’s head and then jumping up to the edge. If you’re looking for an easy way out, perhaps consider giving this a go, but be careful that your attempt doesn’t leave you on the ground, helpless as the blocks come close.

Later in the level, players will be forced to jump over low platforms that spread over the whole stage. Time your jump poorly here and your Fall Guys can get a limb stuck underneath the moving platform, causing you to almost certainly be yanked from the stage. Jump high and clear the whole obstacle to avoid this unfortunate fate.

• Stay at the back of the stage for maximum vantage
• Climbing onto the side walls is a high-risk, high-reward exploit
• Be extra careful when jumping over low platforms - don’t get stuck!
