The Fallout Series by Bethesda has famously and historically all been single-player experiences. Fallout is about a single person who is trying to survive and understand a post-nuked world. But this has changed in Fallout 76 as this game is the first multiplayer experience in the Fallout universe.

This means you can loot with your friends, experience a story together, and so much more. Fallout 76 has grown a lot in the last couple of years and now is a great time to experience the game yourself due to the massive improvements it has gone through. But, is Fallout 76 cross-platform compatible? Here, we will answer that question.

Does Fallout 76 Have Cross Platform Compatibility?

There is a large number of platforms where players can experience Fallout 76. Fallout 76 is available on the Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and on PC. That is a lot of different platforms to possibly play Fallout 76 on and that means you are free to choose whatever platform that you have. But can a PS5 Fallout 76 owner play with someone who purchased the game on PC?

The answer to that question is a flat no because Fallout 76 is not cross platform compatible in 2023.

You can only play Fallout 76 with someone who is playing on the same platform as you. So if you have multiple friends who are interested in playing Fallout 76, make sure you agree on what platform you get it on because that is the only way to play together.

Is Cross Platform Compatibility Coming To Fallout 76?

Cross platform compatibility is very likely not going to come for Fallout 76. The reason for this is that Bethesda has not really given any indications that cross platform compatibility is coming for Fallout 76. Sure, there were rumors that it was going to happen when Fallout 76 first launched, but it has been a couple of years since then and there has been no further mention of it from the development team.

There is also the fact that Elder Scrolls Online by Bethesda also does not have cross platform compatibility. Bethesda has shown a history of not adding cross platform compatibility in their games, so we wouldn't expect it in the future for Fallout 76.

That being said, things can quickly change and if cross-platform compatibility does come for Fallout 76, we will be sure to update this page accordingly to reflect that information.
