The Blue Ridge Caravan Company faction, which made its debut in Fallout 76 with the Wastelanders update, finally has more to offer in the form of a new public event called Safe and Sound that not only introduces players to some of the new NPCs added with Ocean in a Blue Moon update but also to the newly added one of the two Cryptids, the Blue Devil, as the final boss. 

For players who don't know, the Blue Devil is a bipedal creature in Fallout 76 based on real-life West Virginia folklore, where many people from Webster County sighted a bluish dog-like creature with ghostly howl during the winter of 1939-1940.

Fallout 76 Safe And Sound Event Location

The Safe and Sound public event happens at the Middle Mountain Pitstop key location located northeast of The Whitespring Station, which previously served as one of the Cryptid spawn locations in Fallout 76.

With the Ocean in a Blue Moon update, the Blue Ridge Caravan Company faction has taken over the place with two new vendors NPCs, Vera Thornberg and Clyde, found inside the nearby cabins. 

How To Start Safe And Sound Event In Fallout 76

The Safe and Sound is a public event in Fallout 76, meaning you cannot start it from your end. You must wait till the event takes place at the Middle Mountain Pitstop to take part. 

Public events in Fallout 76 occur all around the game's map every twenty minutes. Which event is going to go live depends on RNG. So, there is nothing you can do here apart from waiting and doing other activities till it goes live. 

How To Complete Safe And Sound Event In Fallout 76

Completing the Safe and Sound event in Fallout 76 is a three-step process where the first step involves talking to Vera Thornberg to commence the event. The second step involves clearing the Middle Mountain Pitstop from critters and repairing the six Circuit Breakers, which restores the area. 

Lastly, the third and final step involves protecting the Repeller Generator, which sits in the middle of the Middle Mountain Pitstop, from three waves of enemies; each wave is 90 seconds long, with 20 seconds break between each wave to prepare for the next wave. 

During these three waves, you will mostly encounter enemies such as Honey Beasts, Wolves, Yao Guai, Radscorpions, Floaters, and others, including the Blue Devil, whom you will fight at the near end of the third wave. Once you defeat the Blue Devil, the event will end, and you will receive a variety of rewards.

• Restore the Middle Mountain Pitstop
  • Clear the area from critters 
  • Repair Circuit Breakers (0/6)
• Defend the Repeller Generator
  • Survive three waves of enemies

The first Circuit Breaker is found on top of the roof of the cabin, in which you find Vera Thornberg.

The second Circuit Breaker is found at the bottom of the Repeller Generator in the middle of the Middle Mountain Pitstop.

The third Circuit Breaker is found on the tree platform located on the northeast part of the Middle Mountain Pitstop.

The fourth Circuit Breaker is found inside Clyde's cabin, right next to him on the wall.
