FIFA 23 Premier League TOTS Release Time and Predictions

Premier League Team of the Season, who's in the team, when is it released, player predictions and leaks
FIFA 23 Premier League TOTS Release Time and Predictions

With FIFA 23’s Premier League Team of the Season just days away from release, we thought we’d give predicting this year's TOTS Squad a shot.

As always, the Premier League TOTS is likely to be the most popular and expensive out of all the teams released by EA. With the promise of superstar cards, packing one of these will likely give you the best chance to upgrade your team ready for the upcoming Weekend Leagues.

But who's going to make the cut? Keep reading to see who we think will be making the team this year.

When Is It Released?

The Premier League TOTS will be available in packs on May 5 at 18:00 BST.

Premier League TOTS will also be available as red picks in Weekend League, which will start at 20:00 BST on the same day.

How Many Players Are In The Premier League TOTS?

We’re predicting a squad of 18, but right now we don’t know just how many players EA will be releasing into packs. With cards also earned through SBCs and through gameplay objectives, it’s likely we’ll see a good amount of cards on offer however.

Who Have We Predicted For Premier League TOTS?

It’s worth mentioning that players that received a Community TOTS won’t be included in the prediction, as we think it’s unlikely to see players like Nathan Ake and David De Gea receive cards two weeks in a row.

Now with that out the way, let’s get into predicting shall we?

Starting XI

Goalkeeper - Nick Pope

Starting off in goal, Pope feels like a relatively straightforward choice. In just his first season for Newcastle they’ve become the team with the lowest goals conceded in the entire league, and his saves have been a key part of it.

Right Back - Kieran Trippier

A position usually dominated by Trent Alexander-Arnold, we’re pretty likely to be seeing a new PL TOTS RB this year. Again, being a part of the strongest defence in the league stands you in good stead for earning a TOTS card, especially when you’re also contributing key assists at the same time.

Centre Back - Sven Botman

And our trio of Newcastle defenders is rounded off by another of their new signings, Sven Botman. This is maybe one of our more less certain predictions, with the overall quality of centre backs not being outstanding this season. But, like we said before, it’s probably a safe bet to just go with a player in the best defence.

Centre Back - William Saliba

You can’t build a title challenging team without a good defence and, to the delight of Arsenal fans, Saliba has almost (we’ll come back to that later) single handedly been responsible for his teams’ great defensive record this season. It’s no coincidence that Arsenal’s drop in form has coincided with Sailba’s injury.

Left Back - Oleksandr Zinchenko

Okay so maybe Saliba didn’t do all the work himself. Zinchenko’s debut season for the Gunners has seen him deployed as an inverted full back, much to the confusion of ‘proper football men’ that aren’t used to seeing a left back playing centre mid. The Ukrainian has excelled in this new role, to the point where many sides around Europe are borrowing the tactic. We’re not sure if ‘The Zinchenko Role’ will catch on or not, but I’m sure a TOTS card will be a big enough reward.

Central Defensive Midfielder - Rodri

A proper battle for the title needs at least two teams to tango, with Manchester City the perfect dance partner for Arsenal this season. Hence you can expect a few City players in this TOTS, in particular the ever present holding midfielder Rodri. Possibly an underwhelming player to find in your packs this weekend, but deserving nonetheless.

Centre Mid - Kevin De Bruyne

Another of Manchester City’s superstars this season, Kevin De Bruyne’s playmaking has once again guaranteed himself a spot in the Premier League’s elite. Expect his TOTS card to rival his Team of the Year card, which is currently costing around 2.7million coins.

Centre Mid - Martin Odegaard

We can already see it now. You see a blue card, you see Norwegian aaaand it’s not Haaland. Still, Odegaard is not a player to be snuffed at, earning himself a special card by pulling the strings for Arsenal’s attack this season.

Right Wing - Bukayo Saka

The Golden Boy of the Arsenal squad, Saka currently boasts the second most assists in the league whilst also being in the top 10 goalscorers in the league. Extremely hard to believe he’s still only 21 years old, with this set to be his second TOTS card of his young career.

Striker - Harry Kane

The England captain’s form has been ultra consistent throughout the season, despite Tottenham Hotspur’s mixed results, which will earn him a return to the Premier League TOTS after missing out last year.

Striker - Erling Haaland

The first, and most obvious, name in the squad, Haaland’s record breaking debut season in the Premier League means we can expect to see one of the best and most expensive cards released very soon. Good luck trying to defend him if you face him on FUT Champs this weekend…

FIFA23ManCity

Bench

Goalkeeper- Bernd Leno

Probably an unexpected choice, but EA love to use the bench players to give players from different teams TOTS cards, and with just 4 teams covering the whole of the starting eleven, this is a nice chance to spread it around.

Left Back- Luke Shaw

This spot would have probably gone to Nathan Ake if it weren’t for his Community TOTS, so instead we’ll go for the other side of Manchester’s left back in Luke Shaw. Consistent in his performances at both left back and centre back, it’ll be interesting to see whether EA give Shaw an alternate position in the centre of defence.

Centre Back- Lisandro Martinez

Again, this could easily have been Gabriel or Ruben Dias, but for the sake of variance let’s go with Manchester United’s World Cup winner. Nicknamed the Butcher by Ajax fans, Martinez’ aggressive play style has earned him plaudits during his first season in the league.

Centre Mid - Alexis Mac Allister

If we’re honest, Brighton deserve at least one TOTS card for their performances this season, and who better to give one to than another World Cup winner. Rumours have already begun over where the Argentinian will be playing next season, which means this might be the last chance for Brighton fans to pack their star midfielder whilst he still has the Seagulls on his club.

Left Mid - Kaoru Mitoma

Okay okay, we’re giving Brighton two TOTS cards, but it’s very much deserved. One of the most exciting teams to watch, Mitoma’s performances this season personify Brighton’s eye-catching style. Whether EA give him 5 star skills remains to be seen, but personally we think any player that did a university thesis on dribbling probably deserves them.

Left Winger - Marcus Rashford

Manchester United’s main man this season, stepping into the shoes of Utd legend Cristiano Ronaldo and leading them to Carabao Cup success, Rashford deserves to be one of the higher rated TOTS this year.

Left Winger - Jack Grealish

Grealish’s form has been electric since the league campaign resumed following the Winter World Cup and if City do go on to claim the title, his goal contributions will have been a huge part of that success.

Our Ratings

Here's roughly what we think the ratings will look like. EA have been known to go above and beyond for the Premier League TOTS, however, so maybe we'll end up seeing much higher ratings.
