FIFA 23 Super Lig Team of the Season Predictions and Release Time

FIFA 23 Süper Lig TOTS, Who's In It, When Is It Released?
FIFA 23 Super Lig Team of the Season Predictions and Release Time

Turkey's top league, the Süper Lig, is typically regarded as the place where washed up footballers go towards the end of their career. But for those that pay attention, the Super Lig is one of the most competitive leagues in the world, with four different winners in the past four years.

The Super Lig is also home to some of the most fierce rivalries in all of football, with Instanbul based sides Galatasaray, Beşiktaş and Fenerbahçe each battling for the title each and every year. While it looks like Galatasaray will be lifting the trophy this Summer, it's still been a tight battle that has produced lots of entertaining football along the way. And luckily for FUT players, entertaining football usually produces quality FUT cards.

Read on for everything you need to know about the Super Lig TOTS.

When Is It Released?

The Super Lig TOTS is set to be released on May 28th at 18:00 BST. This will replace the MLS Team of the Season and is the second to last minor league TOTS, with the Portuguese League to follow.

How Many Are Included?

EA are tending to only release 9 players in to packs for the minor league TOTS, with other cards being available through objectives and squad building challenges. Just to be safe, we've included 11 players in our predictions though.

Who's In The Team?

Here are our predictions for the Super Lig TOTS.

Defence

Super_Lig_Def

GK Fernando Muslera

Galatasaray are cruising to another Turkish League title and the fact that they’ve only conceded 26 goals all season is a key part in that. At 36 years old, Muslera is one of the staples of Turkish football with over 10 years in goal for the Champions elect.

CB Marc Bartra

A big portion of these predictions will be a lot of us going ‘remember him?’. Think of it as a version of where is he now. Anyway this is the first of those, with the former Barcelona and Dortmund man now plying is trade for Trabzonspor.

CB Victor Nelsson

Another Galatasaray player, this time a Danish international centre back. Again, with such an impressive defensive record it’s a no brainer to include a defender from the (almost) Champions.

LB Arthur Masuaku

It’s back to the Where Is He Now game, with former West Ham left back enjoying a successful individual performance in Turkey. With 2 goals and 6 assists, it’s likely he’ll receive a TOTS card, something he failed to achieve while in the Premier League.

Midfield

RM Nathan Redmond

We promise we’re not purposely just naming players you’re likely to have heard of. It’s just that Nathan Redmond has had a genuinely good season *and* is the kind of player you can imagine EA wanting to give a card to. We’re not quite sure if there’s a demand to link your English players with Turkish League players, but if there is Redmond is your man.

CAM Anastasios Bakasetas

For a change let’s talk about a player that’s relatively unknown up until this season. The Greek attacking midfielder enjoyed one of the best seasons of his career with Trabzonspor this year, scoring goals in both the league and Europa League. We can’t imagine the card will be too popular, but it’s deserved.

CDM Lucas Torreira

Here’s a good one, how about a defensive Galatasaray player AND a Where Is He Now player? Torreira joined his Uruguayan team mate in Turkey’s capital this season and has been settled in quickly. His lack of goals and assists may seem worrying, but in reality it’s his defensive work rate that is the real X factor here.

CM Badou Ndiaye

At some point in this list we needed to include a player from Adana Demirspor, if not only so we could talk about their remarkable achievement of finishing 4th in the League, above sides like Trabzonspor and Başakşehir. With 8 goals and 4 assists from midfield, Ndiaye is the perfect candidate for a card.

Attackers

ST Mauro Icardi

Sometimes unfairly, Mauro Icardi has spent much of his career in the headlines over drama that’s not even taking place on the football pitch. That’s why lifting a trophy with Galatasaray will act as a welcome change, and with 19 goals in 19 starts Icardi’s reminded people why he’s played at some of the best clubs in the world.

ST Enner Valencia
Another ex West Ham player, Enner Valencia’s record at Fenerbahce this season has been frankly outrageous. In England he never scored more than 4 league goals in a single season, which is a stark contrast to his 28 goals in 29 games in Turkey this season.

LW Fabio Borini

And finally the last of the predictions sees another blast from Premier League past with the ex Liverpool and Sunderland man enjoying maybe his best ever season. While his club Fatih Karagumruk are lying in 9th, individually he’s contributed 19 goals and 8 assists from the left wing. With Serie A TOTS around the corner, this has a chance of being a great card that can be linked easier than most.
