When do FIFA 23 World Cup Player Items expire?

The arrival of the 2022 World Cup in FIFA 23 has brought with it tons of new content and in-game items. One such addition is the limited-time-only World Cup Player Items. This article will cover everything you need to know about the limited World Cup Player Items, including what they are and when they will expire.

3 January Update - The World Cup might now be over (congratulations Argentina) but there's still time to use your World Cup Player Items before they expire. So make the most of them whilst you still can.

FIFA 23 World Cup Player Items Expiry Date

The World Cup Player Items' expiry date is Wednesday, January 4, 2023. EA has confirmed that after this date, the World Cup Player Items will be removed from FUT and every FUT club, and they will no longer exist in-game. The FIFA World Cup Player Items gathered before this date will stop being tracked, and you will no longer be able to use or view them. 

It should be noted that not all FIFA 23 content tied to the 2022 World Cup will be time-limited. Only the World Cup Player items themselves will expire in January 2023, as indicated by the blue timer icon pasted on the bottom right portion of the card. Everything else will remain in the game permanently. 

What Are FIFA 23 World Cup Player Items?

FIFA 23 World Cup Player Items are new cards of players from the 32 qualifying national teams in the 2022 World Cup. They have the same functionality as a regular FUT card but cannot be used after January 4, 2023, due to their limited nature. These World Cup Items are necessary to progress through the End of Event Reward Levels and complete Swap Objectives. Thankfully, duplicates will still give progress towards your End of Event Reward level. You can check out the full list of rewards below:

• Level 1 (6-24 WC Players): x1 80-84 8 Players
• Level 2 (25-49 WC Players): 2,000 coins, x8 80-84 Players
• Level 3 (50-99 WC Players): x1 Prime Gold Players
• Level 4 (100-149 WC Players): 2,000 coins, x5 80+ Players
• Level 5 (150-199 WC Players): 2,000 coins, x1 83+ Player
• Level 6 (200-349 WC Players): x8 80+ Players
• Level 7 (350-499 WC Players): 5,000 coins, x1 83+ Player
• Level 8 (500-599 WC Players): 5,000 coins, x11 81+ Players
• Level 9 (600-749 WC Players): 3,000 coins, x1 Jumbo Rare Players
• Level 10 (750+ WC Players): x3 85+ Players
