FIFA 22 Freeze: Release date, leaks, details, more

Over the years one of the favorite promotions of FIFA Ultimate Team players has been the winter holiday event. Formerly known as FUTMAS, recent iterations of the winter holiday promo have been labeled FUT Freeze.

Regardless of the name, the winter holiday event always brings tons of high-powered cards to the game, usually with striking visual designs. We're only a handful of days from the start of this year's FUT Freeze event and rumours are beginning to swirl.

Here's everything you need to know about the FIFA 22 Freeze event including release date, leaks, details, and more.

When does FUT Freeze start in FIFA 22?

While there is no official word from EA Sports at this time, past iterations of FUT Freeze lead us to believe that the FIFA 22 FUT Freeze event will start on Friday, 10th December at 6 pm GMT. Based on that timeframe as well as the natural event progression in FUT 22, we can expect FIFA 22 Freeze to feature in Ultimate Team for several weeks at least, likely running through the Christmas holiday.

Similar to other Ultimate Team events, FIFA 22 Freeze is expected to feature multiple teams of special cards, available in packs for a one-week period. We'll be sure to keep this post updated should a hard arrival date be announced by EA Sports.

FIFA 22 Freeze promotion - Leaks

One of the popular draws of the FUT Freeze promotion is cards that feature position changes. For example, last year saw an ST version of Sadio Mané as well as a CB version of Casemiro. This allows for more lineup flexibility within your FIFA 22 Ultimate Team squad, resulting in a unique gameplay experience.

Popular FIFA 22 leaker ImADuckQuackk recently revealed a squad of players for Team 1 of FIFA 22 Freeze. The list features some already-popular Ultimate Team players, and their boosted card versions would certainly generate even more interest.

  • Joaquin Correa - Sevilla
  • Nico Schulz - Borussia Dortmund
  • Gabriel Jesus - Manchester City
  • Jules Kounde - Sevilla
  • Kevin Mbabu - VfL Wolfsburg
  • Roberto Pereyra - Udinese
  • Marcus Rashford - Manchester United
  • Adama Traoré - Wolves

Just like any other FIFA 22 Ultimate Team event, the FIFA 22 Freeze Team 1 drop is likely to be accompanied by an SBC as well as an Objectives challenge player.
