Professional FIFA player Ryan Pessoa joins Manchester City

Following his departure from Hashtag United earlier this year, Ryan, 21, has revealed he’s signed for Manchester City for the upcoming FIFA 20 season.

Ryan previously represented the club in the eClub World Cup last season and will join Shaun ‘Shellzz’ Springette on the Manchester City roster.

Speaking about the acquisition, Ryan said: ‘It’s a massive honour to sign for such a prestigious club, who have a clear ambition both on the football pitch, and on the virtual one.

‘I will do my best to ensure I perform at the highest level to make this club proud.’

Ryan will take part in the ePremier League qualifiers, with hopes of taking Manchester City all the way to the final in March.

In his post announcing his departure from Hashtag United, Ryan said: ‘After an amazing two years, I have left Hashtag United by mutual consent. When discussing my contract both myself and the club felt that now could be the best time for me to take on a new a challenge and I am grateful to the club for allowing me to do so.

‘In my time at Hashtag I’ve progressed not just as an esports competitor; but also as an individual, and Hashtag United have contributed massively to that. However, I believe this decision is ultimately best for myself as I look for a new chapter in my professional FIFA career.’

The second stage of the FUT Champions Cup is set to kick off on 22 November, after UK pro player Donovan “Tekkz” Hunt emerged victorious in the first stage earlier this month.
