Best Reaper Materia In FFXIV

Check out our guide for the best Reaper Materia in FFXIV.
Best Reaper Materia In FFXIV

Reaper is a melee DPS Job in FFXIV that can deal massive amounts of burst damage. It will spend its rotation gathering resources, before spending these in short but powerful DPS windows.

In FFXIV, building your character is a core gameplay component. It's not enough to know a boss battle inside and out if your gear is not up to the necessary requirements. A sub-section of acquiring gear in FFXIV is also infusing this said gear with Materia, otherwise known as Materia Melding.

Depending on the type of Job and the gear piece in question, several different kinds of Materia can be used to enhance your stats. This article will outline the best spreads and key stats to look out for when choosing Materia for your Reaper.

When choosing Materia for any class in FFXIV, it's important to know which stats this Job is trying to prioritize. DPS Jobs will often want as much Strength or Critical Hit as possible, while healers may instead choose to focus on Spell Speed or Speed, in general, to pump out heals as efficiently as possible. Regardless, if a certain playstyle suits you the best, whether this be landing huge critical hits or focusing on consistent damage, feel free to meld the Materia you want to your items.

Here are some of the stats you should prioritize as a Reaper.

Best Reaper Materia in order of priority:

  1. Critical Hit
  2. Skill Speed
  3. Direct Hit

As a powerful damage dealer, Reapers need as much damage as they can muster. Critical Hit is a great choice for Reaper Materia as it boosts not only your Critical Hit Rate, but Critical Hit Damager as well.

Skill Speed is a fine alternative, allowing you to get your abilities out a lot faster. Direct Hit is also a good choice for more consistent damage, even if it lacks the highs of a Critical Hit build.
