How To Unlock Blue Mage Job In FFXIV

One of the great things about playing FFXIV is that it's possible to play every Job on a single character. You can load into a raid as a DPS, then fight some world bosses as a tank before helping out in a Dungeon Roulette as a healer. 

While a lot of the Classes and Jobs are available to all players from the start of the game, with each new expansion, the developers of FFXIV have been good at introducing new Jobs to spice things up. 

These Jobs require players to meet certain criteria before they can be unlocked, however, and one of these Jobs is the Blue Mage. So, if you are curious about how to unlock the Blue Mage, this article will guide you through everything you need to do to start playing this Job. 

How To Unlock Blue Mage In FFXIV

Blue Mage is a unique Job in FFXIV that can take abilities from overworld enemies and add them to the Job's rotation. As such, Blue Mages are not allowed in most pieces of content and are more of a fun gimmick class that is useable in specific content designed around it. 

To unlock Blue Mage, players must first have completed the Main Scenario Quest, "The Ultimate Weapon," and have a Disciple of War or a Disciple of Magic at level 50 or above. Once these criteria have been met, head to the Lower Decks in Limsa Lominsa (X:9.9, Y:11) and speak with the Zealous Yellowjacket NPC. 

There, you will be able to accept the quest "Out of the Blue." Completing this quest will provide you with the Soul of the Blue Mage and allow you to start playing this unique Job.
