How To Unlock Machinist Job In FFXIV

This is our guide on how to unlock the Machinist Job in FFXIV.
How To Unlock Machinist Job In FFXIV

One of the great things about playing FFXIV is that it's possible to play every single Job on a single character. You can load into a raid as a DPS, then fight some world bosses as a tank before helping out in a Dungeon Roulette as a healer.

While a lot of the Classes and Jobs are available to all players from the start of the game, with each new expansion, the developers of FFXIV have been good at introducing new Jobs to spice things up.

These Jobs require players to meet certain criteria before they can be unlocked, however, and one of these Jobs is the Machinist. So, if you are curious about how to unlock the Machinist, this article will guide you through everything you need to do to start playing this Job.

To unlock Machinist, players must first have completed the Main Scenario Quest of A Realm Reborn. Players must also have a Disciple of War or a Disciple of Magic at level 50 or above.

Once both of these criteria have been met, players will need to enter the second expansion known as Heavensward and, more specifically, the location called Ishgard.

This is the hub city of Heavensward, so you should be able to access it rather easily. Speak with Stephanivien (X:8, Y:10) in order to acquire the level 50 quest "Savior of Skysteel."

Simply play through this quest, and once it has been completed, the Machinist Job will be unlocked starting at level 30. Unlike the starting classes found in the three major cities where you will start at level one, Jobs with no sub-class will start at level 30 immediately.

Machinist is a powerful Physical Ranged DPS, capable of dishing out massive burst damage from a safe distance.
