Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 8 has just started and if you want to have an early advantage in the new meta, check out the list of the best landing spots in Fortnite Season 8.
Best landing spots in Fortnite Season 8

Usually, the start of a new season in a battle royale game means that the game's map will undergo some significant changes. These changes are typically explained by the game's lore and are introduced as an attempt to keep the game fresh.

This time around, however, Epic Games has decided not to introduce many changes to the map in Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 8. This decision has been welcomed by some fans, who appreciate the developer's consistency. Other players, on the other hand, are not that happy with it, as they think the game might become too stale without changes.

We've highlighted some of these changes below before diving into our list of the best landing sites in Fortnite Season 8.

All map changes in Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 8

The only two locations that have received some significant changes are Sludgy Swamp and Corny Crops, which has been overtaken by Kevin the Cube. A number of other sites have also received biome changes, which only change the map aesthetically, keeping the layout mostly the same.

With that being said, there are still some changes in the meta that should be taken into consideration, especially when choosing where to land. We have tested the map and we can safely say that these are the best locations to land in Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 8.

Best landing spots in Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 8

When deciding what the best landing spots in Fortnite Season 8 are, you need to bear several factors in mind: what you will be able to find there (in terms of weapons and materials); how likely is it that this location will be heavily contested; and finally, what's your game plan when landing on that location.

1. Woodworks

The best thing about Woodworks is an abundance of resource material you can acquire, from the get-go. For example, pallets and trees will provide you with food; you can get bricks from the building and metal from the tomato and burger heads, etc.

When it comes to looting, there's also several chests and drops situated nearby. To be fair, there are locations that are richer in goods, in that regard.

The most important part of Season 8 is the slipstream which will allow you to quickly rotate to other POIs once you are done looting. The level of mobility and flexibility provided by the slipstreams are currently unparalleled, which is why this location is ranked number 1 on our list.

2. Dirty Docks

Besides having already been established as a great location for early looting, with loads of resource material, Dirty Docks is usually not heavily contested in the early game. Season 8 also sees Dirty Docks buffed with a slipstream, which will allow players to quickly disengage from unwanted fights, or to simply navigate their way to a different location for looting.

3. Stealthy Stronghold

The biggest downside of Stealthy Stronghold, its strange location, is now negated with the slipstream. (Picture: Epic Games)

Stealthy Stronghold is definitely one of the best locations for landing. The location comprises a lot of loot and resource material to pick up. This location is typically also fairly empty early in the game, due to its remote position. With the slipstream, you can loot the location and then quickly rotate to a better position.

4. Alien Facility near Pleasant Park

The Alien Facility, situated East of Pleasant Park, is another great landing location. The location includes several openings with great looting routes from early on. Once you loot at the location, you can quickly transit to the bridge where you may find heaps of metal and chests that will assist you in acquiring a complete loadout.

From there you can rotate anywhere you want. You could either navigate to a nearby jungle area or you could go directly to Pleasant Park to score a few kills. Given that there's only one Henchman Chest and a few regular Chests at the Alien Facility, it may not be the best location for looting though.

5. Junkyard

A small Junkyard near Dirty Docks, one of the few new locations, is another strategically good option that can allow you to choose several looting routes. It doesn't contain many chests but it does have an enormous amount of resource material, including metal, wood, and brick.

Similarly to some of the other locations that we have highlighted, the presence of the slipstream means there is a lot of mobility or options for quick rotations.
