Fortnite Celebration Cup with $1 million prize pool announced

Epic Games has revealed a special Fortnite tournament exclusive to PlayStation 4, with a $1,000,000 prize pool, free skins and more.
  • Fortnite Celebration Cup is only available to PS4 players
  • Winners on regional leaderboards can grab a new skin, pickaxe and spray
  • The cup starts on 15th February 2020
  • PlayStation 4 players can compete in the Fortnite Celebration Cup later this month, with a huge prize pool and special skins up for grabs.

Announced on the PlayStation blog, the Solos competition will take place across Saturday 15th February and Sunday 16th February, with different prizes available on each day.

On the first day, if you place in the top 5% of your regional leaderboard, you’ll unlock a Tango skin. The top 25% of players will receive a Wild Accent pickaxe, while the top 50% win a Take Cover spray.

If you place in the top 5%, you’ll also receive the below ranked prizes too.

The second day sees players compete for a share of $1,000,000. You can check out the full prize breakdowns for each region and rules here.

To compete in the Fortnite Celebration Cup, you’ll have to be playing on PlayStation 4 and make sure your Fortnite account is at level 15. You’ll also have to enable two-factor authentication on your Epic account.

You can check out the exact timing of when the cup starts when you hit the ‘Compete’ tab in-game.

This tournament follows the recent Australian Open Summer Smash Cup, which took place on 1-2nd February.

Epic has been suspiciously quiet on their plans for the Fortnite World Cup, which made its debut last year on 26-28 July in New York.

Kyle “Bugha” Giersdorf took top prize at the event, ascending to worldwide fame where he’s now even appearing in Super Bowl adverts.

Fortnite Celebration Cup kicks off on Saturday 15th February on PlayStation 4.
