Prize pool

The combined prize pool for the December Fortnite DreamHack Open featuring two US tournaments and the European one is 250,000 USD.

Players in the Fortnite DreamHack Open Europe tournament will fight for their share of the 82,550 USD if they make it to the final day of the competition.

Fortnite DreamHack Open January 2021: How to join

If the 250,000 USD combined prize pool got you curious, then you should be excited to know the Fortnite DreamHack Open January 2021 tournament is open to everyone, over the age of 13.

Signing up is easy. All you need to do is head on over to the DreamHack Open website, head to the "Signup" tab, and confirm your participation via a form.

Once you've joined the tournament, you should see a confirmation label "Registered" in your Epic Games account. 

Signups open on 13th January 2021 and will close before the tournament kicks off on 22nd January 2021.

Format

The Fortnite Dreamhack Open January 2021 tournament takes place in a Duos format, with high-scoring points for Victory Royales decent placements.

The tournament will work as follows:

• Open qualifiers with 250 duos advancing from each heat to the semifinals.
• Each duo can play a maximum of 10 games during the 3-hour-heat.
• Semis with 500-750 duos and 50 duos advancing to the Grand Final. Each duo can play a maximum of 10 games during the 3hour heat.
• Grand Final with 8 consecutive games at scheduled times. A new game starts every 40 minutes.

For NA West and NA East regions, there will be two heats, while Europe gets three heats in the qualifiers.

Schedule
