Fortnite DreamHack Open: Schedule, format, prize pool and how to watch

Kicking off in July, the DreamHack Open Featuring Fortnite will consist of monthly online tournaments for the EU, NA East, and NA West Fortnite servers throughout 2020.

DreamHack has long been the 3rd party tournament organizer of choice for Fortnite and as part of the announcement of the Chapter 2 Season 3 competitive calendar we also got confirmation that a monthly DreamHack event was on its way. That's right, monthly, so by January 2021 we will have had six DreamHack tournaments, each with a $250,000 prize pool. There will be tournaments for NA East and West, and Europe with the first being a Solo tournament scheduled for 17-25th July.

Registration is now open for the first tournament, so if you want to take part or plan to tune in and watch some of Fortnite's best battle it out, here is everything you need to know about the DreamHack Open Featuring Fortnite event.

  • Each player can play a maximum of 10 games during the 3-hour-heat.
  • Semis with 100 players advancing to the Grand Final. Each player can play a maximum of 10 games during the 3-hour heat.
  • Grand Final with 8 consecutive games at scheduled times. A new game starts every 40 minutes.
