Back in Fortnite Chapter 1, Epic Games added a shotgun cooldown timer, effectively killing off the tactic of "Double Pump" or "Pump-Tac". The tactic allowed players to fire double-barrel shotgun shots without delay.

With Fortnite Season 5, the double pump has returned, and is linked to one specific exotic double-barrel shotgun called "The Dub". Here's how you can deal massive damage in Fortnite Season 5 using the double pump tactic (or possibly a glitch) and how you can find the exotic weapon.

How to double pump in Fortnite Season 5

To double pump in Fortnite Season 5, you will need two items. Any shotgun, and The Dub, since the latter doesn't have the cooldown timer.

It is really as simple as that, and with a bit of practice, you will be able to double pump to your heart's content, or until Epic Games releases an update to stop this tactic in its tracks.

Follow the steps below to double pump in Fortnite Season 5:

  • Find any shotgun in a match.
  • Purchase The Dub exotic double-barrel shotgun with gold bars (more on this in the next section).
  • All you need to do now is fire with the first shotgun, spam the reload button, then switch to the second shotgun and fire, then rinse and repeat.
  • Practice the timing until you got the double pump action down, and start mowing down your enemies.

You might not see this tactic being used all too much right now in matches, as The Dub isn't all that easy to acquire. 

Where to find The Dub shotgun in Fortnite Season 5

To get The Dub double-barrel shotgun in Fortnite Season 5, you will need to first farm 1225 gold bars. 

After you've gotten 1225 gold bars by completing quests, killing other players and more, you need to find the Dummy NPC which sells The Dub double-barrel shotgun.

As you can see from the image above via HYPEX, the Dummy NPC is found south of Stealthy Stronghold.

Here, you can purchase The Dub double-barrel shotgun for the price of 1225 Gold Bars, and start double pumping enemies down in Fortnite Season 5.
