Fortnite Servers Not Responding - When Will Servers Come Back Up?

Update on 3rd October 2022: The Fortnite servers are currently live. The next downtime is on 4th October 2022 at 08:00 UTC due to the rollout of the Fortnite v22.10 update.

Epic Games are rolling out the v22.10 update for Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4, entitled Paradise, following the conclusion of the previous Vibin' season. However, many players have complained that the Fortnite servers are not responding.

If you're among the many players currently wondering what's going on, then don't worry. We have you covered. This guide will detail why the Fortnite servers are down and when you can expect them to come back online.

When do Fortnite servers come back online?

According to the Fortnite Status Twitter page on 3rd October 2022 at 21:15 BST, Fortnite matchmaking will be disabled, and the servers will experience downtime starting "04:00 ET (08:00 UTC), with matchmaking being disabled 30 minutes prior."

As the Tweet suggests, the server maintenance is linked to the rollout of the Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4 version 22.10 update.

The maintenance period starts on 4th October 2022 at 08:00 UTC and can last anywhere from 2 to 4 hours. However, from past experiences, it's reasonable to expect Fortnite servers to come back online from 10:00 to 11:00 UTC on the same day.

As a result of the scheduled maintenance, Fortnite players will not be able to log in to the game, access game services or matchmaking, parties, friends and messaging services, voice chat, stats and leaderboards, the Fortnite Item Shop, or Fortnite Crew.

Only the Fortnite website will be operational during this period. Notably, all other Epic Games services should remain active, including the Epic Games Store, Rocket League, Sideswipe, and others.

Once Epic Games has completed its integration of the new Fortnite game patch, the servers will return to normal and become available for play. You can check the official Epic Games server status or the Fortnite Twitter page for updates.

If you're still struggling to log in or access the Fortnite game services, it is always a good rule of thumb to connect your PC or console directly to your router via a LAN cable, as Wi-Fi can, in some cases, be prone to network issues.

That's everything we know at this time. We advise players to remain patient, as it won't be long until the servers are returned online.
