How to get Sideways Weapons in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2

With each passing week in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2, there are new weapons released or unvaulted, and the latest to arrive are the Sideways Weapons. These have appeared in a previous season when Cube resources were available around the map in the form of upgrades.

Now that weapons like the Sideways Rifle and the Sideways Minigun have returned, anyone can upgrade their weapons through a simple upgrade bench. But before any upgrades can be made on these weapons, you'll need to encounter one on the map just like anything else. Luckily that won't be difficult at all this season.

Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2 - Where to find Sideways Weapons

One of the challenges that are introduced with the Sideways Showdown Week is to find Sideways Weapons in general, and eventually, you will need to upgrade them for a separate challenge as well. So far, there are no NPCs that are selling the weapons themselves, and it likely won't happen as the event is only a week long. This is similar to what the Trickshot event was last week.

Overall, the Sideways Weapons are considered floor loot, and that makes them fairly common to pick up. Floor loot items entail anything found on the ground and they can always be opened from chests or supply drops in certain rarities.

The base rarity for the Sideways Rifle and the Sideways Minigun starts with common but those low-level rarities haven't appeared much with the other base loot in the way. Blue rarities seem to be the base for the Sideways Weapons, and they go all the way up to Gold or Legendary.

Landing in spots with a ton of chances for spawns and chests will be your best chance at finding one of these new weapons yourself. Alongside places like Tilted Towers and Greasy Grove, the new Collision point of interest can be a fantastic option for finding the loot you need.

How to upgrade Sideways Weapons in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2

In the past, Cube Monster Parts were required in order to upgrade this set of weapons. They are fairly powerful in terms of power and rate of fire, as well as the use of cooldown instead of a reload. So usually parts would be rarer and upgrades are few and far between.

Now, all you will need is a stack of some Gold Bars, which are passively and actively earned throughout every match. Bring these bars to any Upgrade Bench and select the Sideways Weapon you want to use. That's all there is to the new weapons.
