Fortnite X The Last Of Us Crossover Teased Ahead Of TLOU Remake

Fortnite has seen some exciting crossovers with popular media titles and franchises over the years; some were hits while others made zero sense. Recently, insider sources suggest that Fortnite could see the arrival of iconic gaming characters, Joel and Ellie, from The Last of Us (TLOU), ahead of the game's impending remake.

With its collaborations ranging from Marvel to The Walking Dead, Rick and Morty, Star Wars, and Arcane, the Fortnite x TLOU crossover is yet another attempt by Epic Games to attract more attention and players. While crossovers happen quite frequently in Fortnite, this latest collab is one that players can definitely get excited about.

Fortnite X The Last Of Us Collab Leaked By Insiders

According to Nick Baker, Fortnite's developer-publisher Epic Games will team up with PlayStation and developer Naughty Dog. Together, this collaboration will see a crossover featuring characters from The Last of Us gaming series appearing in-game, but details have been scarce.

Recently a source had contacted @Shpeshal_Nick in regards to Joel & Ellie coming to Fortnite in the near future as a way to potentially promote the launch of TLOU Remake on September 1st.

The Fortnite x TLOU collab was first revealed during the XboxEra podcast, where Baker alluded that the crossover will feature Joel and Ellie from The Last of Us game. He later added that he ran it by a few credible sources to confirm whether the rumors were true before sharing it via Twitter on 23rd July 2022.

Naughty Dog is expected to release The Last of Us Remake on 2nd September 2022 for PlayStation 5 after the company accidentally leaked the game before its reveal at the Summer Game Fest 2022. Based on the leak's timing, we could potentially see the crossover arriving this September with the game's release or the annual celebration day.

Another possibility is that we could see the crossover become available in Fortnite on Outbreak Day. Hopefully, this is a positive signal where we can also learn more about the upcoming The Last of Us TV series by celebrating all things relating to the action-adventure game.

Of course, this collab will likely see skins based on TLOU characters from either the video game or television series arrive in Fortnite, akin to what they had done with the Uncharted crossover. However, as of writing, neither Epic Games, PlayStation, nor Naughty Dog has confirmed the leaks.
