Fortnite v20.30 patch notes - Downtime, bug fixes, Star Wars, Resistance

With Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2 raging on, and the Resistance battles raging across different POI on the island, there's a lot to get excited about. On 3rd May 2022, just before Star Wars day, Epic Games unleashed the Fortnite v20.30 update and we've got some early patch notes to share.

In the Fortnite v20.30 patch notes, you will find the server downtime schedule, bug fixes, possible Star Wars content including lightsabers returning, and Resistance battle progress, so let's get started.

Fortnite server downtime for v20.30 update

With every big update to Fortnite, players will have to endure a few hours of server downtime, and v20.30 is no different.

The servers go down at 04:00 ET (09:00 BST) and matchmaking will be disabled approximately 30 minutes before the server downtime gets underway.

We expect the server downtime to last three to four hours to deploy the Fortnite v20.30 update on PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Switch.

Star Wars event and lightsabers

It is very likely that we will get a Star Wars event with the Fortnite v20.30 update for Star Wars day, aka 4th May 2022.

Prominent leaker Shiina on Twitter also noted that: "Lightsabers and the Star Wars skins should also return after tomorrow's update, I forgot to mention this in my other tweet! It's not known if we will get a new Star Wars skin in addition to the old skins."

Lightsabers might be part of an Elegant Weapons playlist which was found as a codename in the game's files.

Fortnite v20.30 bundles and Wanda skin

It is very likely that we will see a Wanda Maximoff Scarlet Witch Fortnite skin released to coincide with the premiere of Dr Strange and the Multiverse of Madness.

Further, according to leakers, the bundles below are all-but-confirmed to be in the Fortnite v20.30 update.

• "Omega Knight" outfit
• Anime Legends Bundle
• Blunder Bundle

Leaker Shiina explains: "The rest will be a surprise! Some people said the 'Blunder' bundle could be a Fall Guys collab, I can't confirm that, tho."

Fortnite Resistance vs IO battle progress

So in the last Fortnite update (v20.20), we saw the Resistance and IO fight at Coney Crossroads and Rocky Reels. 

This battle will likely move to two new POI on the island. It is likely that we will also see changes to the Coney Crossroads and Rocky Reels POIs as part of the aftermath of the battle.

We expect new weekly quests and challenges to accompany the Resistance vs IO battle.

Fortnite v20.30 patch notes - All bug fixes

While Epic Games does not release official patch notes for Fortnite updates, the Trello board does suggest the bug fixes and improvements we might see in the v20.30 update and is the closest to real patch notes we can get.

General fixes: 

• Street Shine Pickaxe disabled

Battle Royale fixes:

• Vaults at Seven Outposts do not open
  Anvil Rocket Launcher UI missing

Creative fixes:

• Some props in the Agency Upper and Lower prefabs are shown as blank tiles
• Template Islands load blank
• Player Counter Device
• Spawn Pads
• Skydive Volume will not remove flight when team switches
• Trackers dissapear after a player leaves game
• Tracker Device

Save the World fixes:

• Placing a BluGlo Siphon may cause crashes
  The Lab’s daily quest not counting towards daily dungeon quest progress
  Switch and Mobile
• Scoreboards may show double on the HUD in some Creative matches
