Free Fortnite Cup: How-to enter, start time, format & rewards

The war rages on between Epic Games and Apple over the removal of Fortnite from the App Store after it was deemed that Epic "violated the company’s guidelines," and with no signs of the confrontation stopping any time soon, the game company has gone all-in in trying to bring the creators of the iPhone down.

Going from parody videos to a full-fledged event, Epic has unveiled the #FreeFortnite Cup, a tournament open to all players of the battle royale with in-game rewards as well as real ones for competitors to earn.

Here's everything you need to know about the #FreeFortnite Cup.

When does the #FreeFortnite Cup start?

The #FreeFortnite Cup will start next 23rd August and will last approximately four hours, according to the official rules of the tournament. Players can see the start times for their selected region in the Compete tab when the login to Fortnite.

How-to enter the #FreeFortnite Cup

Players are not required to do any formal registration, the only stipulation set in place is simply to be on time and select the #FreeFortnite Cup playlist to start competing in the event.

Al players across all devices, including Android and iOS, can participate in the #FreeFortnite Cup.

#FreeFortnite Cup format

The format is pretty straightforward, as players will have a maximum of 12 games in Solos mode to earn the most amount of points to qualify for one of the hundreds of rewards Epic has in store.

Scoring is as follows.

• Active Time - 1 point for every 3 minutes on the BR island.
• Eliminations - 1 point per Elim
• Victory Royale - 10 points for each Victory Royale  

#FreeFortnite Cup Rewards

Those who perform exceptionally well at the #FreeFortnite Cup will get their hands on prizes like consoles or PCs. However, even if you're in it just for fun, players will be able to easily get their hands on the Tart Tycoon outfit.

Now there's a catch, the hardware rewards won't be tied to actual kills, but rather scavenging skills, as those who eat the most apples in during the tournament will be the winners.
