Players are treated with a host of new gameplay features that can affect the overall gameplay in Fortnite, specifically in Chapter 3 Season 1. One of these unique gameplay features was seen in the Overview Trailer for the next chapter coming soon to Fortnite.
Loot tents have the potential to be a useful item as they can be found much like other in-game items. In this article, we detail what are Loot Tents and how players could use this unique mechanic to help themself and their teammates during matches in Fortnite.
What are Loots Tents in Fortnite?
The Loot Tent is Fortnite’s latest gameplay feature included in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1. This mechanic allows players to set up a tent structure that comes with two massive perks.
The first is that the Loot Tent can aid you and your squad recover some health when visiting the loot tent which could be rather handy during intense firefights. Secondly, the Loot Tent will allow players to store their items during matches, like weapons and ammo.
Players can also use these tents to enjoy camping with friends as they marvel at the wonderful views across the Fortnite map. This can be used playing Duos, Trios and Squads game modes.
How to use a Loot Tent in Fortnite?
To use a Loot Tent, players will need to have a Tent Pickup equipped in their inventory before pitching it up. Once the tent is set up, players can safely discard items in the tent for their teammates to loot as well as store their items.
Players can use the stored items from the tent in other matches they play and can lock them to prevent other players from stealing the stashed items.
However, if a stashed item is labelled invalid for a specific game mode, it means that players won’t be able to loot the item but can replace it with a new item that can be used in that game mode.
Similarly, some in-game items can’t be stored in the Loot Tent in any game mode. Labelled as “Unstashable”, these items, likely depending on item rarity, can’t be stored in the tent and as such, players can either free up space in their inventory to keep the item or discard it.
Each tent will come with three slots to store items for players to retrieve in future matches. Two slots will be available immediately to all players; however, the third slot can be rented out using Gold Bars.
Players can add upgrades to the Loot Tent such as a campfire, picnic table and an upgrade station for more utilities.
The Loot Tent in Fortnite will likely serve multiple purposes outside of storage and healing. How players will use this unique gameplay feature should be interesting to watch.
