miHoYo will release the next significant update for Genshin Impact, with v1.6 expected to hit the live servers soon, and players are waiting to discover what the next patch will offer. The update will add brand new content to the game, including new characters, weapons, quests, rewards and more. Based on leaks, the Genshin Impact 1.6 update might add new characters, Yoimiya and Kazuha, along with new locations - Inazuma and much more.

In addition to this, travellers will also be rewarded with free rewards to update their game to the latest version. These rewards include free Primogems and will be sent to the in-game mails.

Genshin Impact 1.6 update is expected to release globally on 9th June; however, miHoYo is yet to announce the official release date. The launch date of the next patch will be revealed in the Genshin Impact 1.6 update live stream, and you can find details about it below.

Genshin Impact 1.6 update live stream date and time

Before the release of each update, miHoYo holds an event on Genshin Impact’s YouTube channel, revealing the release date as well as the new content coming to the game.

The live stream is expected to be held on 28th May (5 am PT / 8 am ET time / 1 pm BST time). Meanwhile, in the latest dev discussion, a few improvements and optimizations coming to the next patch have been revealed based on the Travelers feedback on the Weapon Upgrade system, Serenitea Pot load limit and more. Here’s what was revealed:

  • Load limit in Teapot is increased
  • Tubby dialogue will be skippable
  • Second-floor rooms are opened
  • The Weapon Upgrade system is improved
  • Crafting Bench added in Coop
  • Players will be able to locate teammates in the coop on the map if they are away
