Genshin Impact 2.0 preview: Release date, lnazuma region, new characters, weapons, and more

As the arrival of the second part of Genshin Impact’s update 1.6 draws near, along with the arrival of Kaedehara Kazuha, more details have begun to emerge about what is coming in the next major update of the game, all of this led by the debut of the Inazuma region.

To get an idea of what to expect, we brought together information from leakers, the public test server and what has been released by miHoYo and offer up this preview of Genshin Impact 2.0.

Inazuma region debut

As mentioned before, the great novelty of this update will be the debut of the region known as Inazuma, an archipelago known for being the domain of the Electro Archon. The region is imbued with takes inspiration from traditional Japanese culture and boasts beautiful pastoral lands full of cherry trees and soft colours.

The Inazuma region will be located very southeast of Teyvat, and it will require a long journey across the ocean to reach this mysterious region. Some of the main POIs that have been revealed at the end of the versions 1.5 and 1.6 showcases include the following:

New Inazuma Characters

Let's move on to the next important point, the new characters. Through leaks we know of a total of ten new characters that will be arriving from July 2021 to 2022 to Genshin Impact, however the update 2.0 will bring us three new characters of one of which has long been known to be on the way.

We are talking about Kamisato Ayaka, a five-star Cryo affinity Swordswoman who is known for her affiliation with the Kamisato Clan, being the princess of Kamisato House, as well as for her benevolent spirit and her great knowledge around Inazuma, so her presence will be vital to us from the first moment we touch foot in the new region.

Another of the characters that will arrive in the game will be Yoimiya, known for being a master in the creation of fireworks as well as the owner of the Naganohara factory, having great prestige within Inazuma for the shows she has managed to coordinate for different celebrations within the region. She will be a four-star Pyro-type character who will use a bow as her main weapon.

Finally, we have Sayu, a little girl known for being a great ninja master in Inazuma, an expert in the art of ninjutsu, she is also known for her lazy and laid-back attitude. So far it is not known what her main weapon type will be, however it is known that her affinity will be towards the Anemo element.

Likewise, we must not forget that by having access to this new region, we will also have access to Electro-type abilities for our Traveler, through the Statues of the Seven located around all the islands of the archipelago.

New bosses and enemies

We've already learned a lot about the heroes, but Inazuma's debut will also bring new enemies to face. The first of these will be La Signora, a character who has previously appeared in some of the story mode missions, and who is also part of the Fatui clan, having a certain link with Tartaglia.

As for global bosses, one of those that has been rumoured has been a new Hypostasis, this time the Pyro element being the one that will arrive in the game, so you will have to prepare with your best Hydro-type units to face it.

It is also expected new types of enemies related to the Electro element will arrive in the game, such as Whopperflowers, Hilichurls, Lawachurls, and even characters similar to the appearance of samurais and ronins.

New weapons added

Finally, let's talk about some of the weapons that are coming to the game soon with update 2.0. Much of the arsenal will have purple ornamentations thanks to the dominance of the Electro element throughout Inazuma, so the first weapons that will arrive in the game will have a very similar style, however, they will have a great variety of options and statistics.

With that said, it's time to answer the big question: when will update 2.0 arrive? Following the development itinerary which miHoYo has handled during all of the game’s updates, the new update is expected to be available on 21st July 2021, with a dedicated presentation scheduled between 10-15th July.

So for the moment, we only have to wait for the arrival of the Inazuma region, as well as welcome Kaedehara Kazuha, the first character from these islands, while we finish with everything planned for update 1.6 where more challenges and more rewards await us.
