Everything announced in Genshin Impact 2.6 livestream

Genshin Impact 2.6 Special Program livestream showcase a plethora of in-game content Travelers can anticipate in the 2.6 update scheduled to launch on 30th Match 2022. Developer HoYoverse confirms the long-awaited arrival of Kamisato Ayato to the game, and The Chasm is making its presence known in the latter half of the upcoming update.

On the back of a lacklustre 2.5 update, the next update promises to bring much-needed excitement filled with dangerous adventures and foes to face. For those who can't watch it on Twitch, here’s everything getting announced during the 2.6 Special Program livestream, including new characters, events, banners, and more.

Genshin Impact 2.6 livestream live: New characters, events, banners and more

HoYoverse is hosting the 2.6 Special Program livestream via Twitch on 18th March 2022. The live programming event gives Travelers a look at the upcoming 2.6 update arriving on 30th March 2022.

[11: 45 AM GMT] The Genshin Impact 2.6 Special Program live stream will be starting soon in 15 minutes. You can follow our live blog for all the announcements from the livestream as it happens.

[12:00 PM GMT] The Genshin Impact 2.6 Special Program livestream has begun! Follow our live blog for all the announcements and you can watch the livestream on Genshin Impact's Twitch channel. The VOD is available on Genshin Impact's YouTube channel.

[12:02 PM GMT] Chris Hackney is the official English voice actor for Kamisato Ayato with Akira Ishida providing the Japanese voice over for the character. You can read the full article on Ayato's voice actors and their past work on our dedicated Genshin Impact section.

[12:05 PM GMT] The first Redemption Code is now available for Travelers to collect their Primogems once redeemed. You can check out the full article on our dedicated Genshin Impact section.

[12:08 PM GMT] Ayato may have a "magic satchel" because we want some of that Boba too. Ayato stated that the Kamisato Clan has a reputation to uphold and therefore Thoma gets all the "defective" food he makes. Poor Thoma!

Ayato allows Itto to call him "bro" who has a very "good" opinion of Ayato. This speaks of their friendship as Ayaka explains that Ayato motivates and brings out the best in people.

[12:10 PM GMT] Kamisato Ayato's combat skills are being explained. And there's plenty to unpack here.

Ayato's Normal Attacks unleashes massive AoE damage within a limited time, which additionally increases the party's effects of their Normal Attacks. Once he utilises his Elemental Skill, Kamisato Art: Kyouka, he shifts stance to enter a new state which leaves behind a Hydro illusion.

This Hydro illusion can explode, dealing AoE Hydro damage to enemies within its blast radius. Furthermore, this state converts his Normal Attacks to Hydro blades that also deals AoE Hydro damage which once its hits enemies, grants Ayato an effect that increases damage dealt based on his current max HP.

This effect will clear if Ayato left the battlefield or uses his Elemental Skill once again. His passive talent when used in conjunction with his Elemental Skill once the Hydro illusion explodes, he gains a set amount of stacks.

His Elemental Burst, Kamisato Art: Suiyuu, creates a Hydro “garden” where “bloom water blades” descend onto enemies and increase normal ATK damage for characters within its radius. If Ayato unlocks yet another passive talent when he’s not on the battlefield and has low HP, he regenerates energy levels periodically.

He also has a passive talent, Kamisato Art: Daily Cooking that brings out his more “indulgent” side. This passive talent which when he perfectly cooks a dish, there’s a chance he’ll gain a suspicious dish of the same name.

What are the chances that a suspicious dish ends up with Thoma? Likely! Poor Thoma

[12:13 PM GMT] Kamisato Ayato and Venti will be receiving Character Event Wish banners in the first phase. Kamisato Ayaka is gaining a re-run during the second phase of the Character Event Wish.

[12:14 PM GMT] An Inazuman 5-star weapon will be available during the Epitome Invocation event in the 2.6 update.

[12:17 PM GMT] The Chasm features a new Artifact domain with new artifact sets included. Travelers are to complete a challenge at the Chasm to be awarded items from these artifact sets.

[12:18 PM GMT] A new Archon Quest, Requiem of the Echoing Depths, with Dainsleif returning to the game takes place at The Chasm.

[12:19 PM GMT] The second Redemption Code has gone live. Act fast and claim your Primogems.

[12:20 PM GMT] The headlining event, Hues of the Violet Garden is announced. The event is centred on the Irodori Festival which comprises four mini-events. These include photography, sword-fighting and Ikibana challenges.
[12:27 PM GMT] A visitor from Sumeru is hosting an event called "Spices from the West". A cooking event that relies on "hand and eye coordination" where you need to make use of spices to create combinations for dishes.
These recipes will be available before the event and you can invite characters to taste test dishes. Do keep in mind various characters' taste profiles.

[12:30 PM GMT] Outside the Canvas, Inside the Lens is the next event announced. Another photography event where Travelers capture the beautiful landscapes across Teyvat for an Inazuman artist.
[12:32 PM GMT] The second Genshin Impact soundtrack has been announced. This features musical compositions from various locations including Enkanomiya.
[12:34 PM GMT] The third Redemption Code has been revealed. And Ayato has run out of Boba.

[12:36 PM GMT] The 2.6 update, Zephyr of the Violet Garden will launch on 30th March 2022
[12: 45 PM GMT] HoYoverse releases the official trailer for the 2.6 update, Zephyr of the Violet Garden.
