Original article continues: HoYoverse will release the next content update for Genshin Impact on 28th September 2022, per the adjusted update schedule. Accordingly, the developer has provided Travelers with a look into what’s arriving in the next update during the recent 3.1 Special Program Livestream, including new events, banner schedules, and characters.

Before Travelers can return to Teyvat and navigate all the new and exciting content, a maintenance period will commence implementing the latest update. As a result, the game servers will be down during this time. Here's the complete maintenance schedule and when servers will go back online.

Genshin Impact 3.1 Maintenance – How Long Will Servers Be Down?

Like previous maintenance periods, the Genshin Impact version 3.1 update maintenance is expected to start on 28th September 2022. The maintenance will likely commence at 6 am (UTC+8); the servers will be down for five hours unless stated otherwise by developer HoYoverse.

All Genshin Impact game servers will be offline throughout the maintenance period. As a result, Travelers cannot explore Teyvat, participate in any events, or complete quests. They must save their game before the maintenance begins or risk losing progress and any rewards earned.

Regardless, the developer will award all Travelers with 300 Primogems for their patience to compensate for the maintenance downtime. To receive the free reward, Travelers must have had an Adventure Rank of 5 and higher before the launch of the Genshin Impact version 3.1 update.

The Primogems will be sent directly to Travelers' in-game Mail to claim, and they have 30 days to obtain it before it expires. Primogems, in turn, can be used towards their Wishes for various characters and weapons by buying Acquaint Fate and Intertwined Fate for the banners.

In addition, Primogems can be used to recover Original Resin, needed to obtain rewards from bosses, clearing Domains and challenges like Ley Line Outcrops. This will help speed up game progressions on resin refills which is worth the investment when not using it to catch up on the Genshin Impact free Battle Pass.
