Genshin Impact's Captain Beidou finally gets a solo quest in the latest Hangout Event Series. Players will be travelling to her ship to start the hangout event which involves the Traveller wanting to join Beidou and the Crux.
When the Crux Shines Bright is Beidou’s Hangout Event, which is part of the Hangout Event Series IV. Players will need to meet specific requirements to unlock this Hangout Event.
In this Hangout Event guide, we outline all the information players will need to know about this Hangout Event, the rewards, achievements and every possible ending which can be unlocked.
How to unlock When the Crux Shines Bright
To play Beidou’s Hangout Event, players will need to have reached Adventure Rank 30 or higher as well as having two Story Keys, which can be earned by completing Daily Commissions. You will need to complete eight Commissions to earn two Story Keys.
As four Commissions can be completed daily, for one Story Key, it will take at least two days to unlock. This means that players can get two Story Keys for four days. Furthermore, for this specific Hangout Event, you will need to complete Chapter 2: Act 3 Archon Quest.
When the Crux Shines Bright: event rewards
Depending on which event endings players have triggered, players can get its related rewards If players want to maximise the rewards they can receive, you will have to replay the event as many times possible to unlock most or all endings.

- Unlock an ending: Adventure EXP x100, Primogems x20, Guide to Gold x3
- Unlock two endings: Adventure EXP x100, Hero’s Wit x5, Vajrada Amethyst Fragment x3
- Unlock three endings: Adventure EXP x100, Primogems x20, Flash-Fried Filet x5
- Unlock four endings: Adventure EXP x100, Hero’s Wit x5, Vajrada Amethyst Fragment x3
- Unlock five endings: Adventure EXP x100 Primogems x20, Guide to Gold x3
Achievements
Players can unlock three achievements upon completing this Hangout Event. Each achievement will reward players with Primogems once they have been unlocked.
Honorary Crux Member
- Objective: Complete the “When the Crux Shines Bright” event as well as unlock all five event endings.
- Reward: Primogems x20
Guyun Buyers’ Club
- Objective: Investigate the truth behind the business deal Beidou’s making.
- Reward: Primogems x5
Wine Unburdens
- Objective: Attend the Qingce banquet with Beidou as your guest.
- Reward: Primogems x5
Additionally, players can be rewarded with an extra 30 Primogems for unlocking two of the above achievements by triggering specific endings.
- Guyun Buyer’s Club: Unlock the Ending 1 “Once Everything Is Over”.
- Wine Unburdens: Unlock the Ending 4 “Between Us”.
Event endings
There are five Hangout Event endings or Memories for the “When the Crux Shines Bright” Hangout Event. Each ending is triggered through a series of dialogue choices that influence each available outcome.
Below, we will take a look at all five endings as well as the important dialogue choices players will need to fulfil to get each ending.
Ending 1: Once Everything Is Over
These are the important dialogue options players will need to make to trigger this ending. Most notably, you will need to fail the quiz given to you by Beidou if you wish to have this ending.
A Special Guest
“Why would I? I’m quite interested in the life of a sailor.”
Sailor Training
“The Shield of the Crux” or “The Spear of the Crux” - either option will produce the exact ending result. However, selecting “The Spear of the Crux” will have players skip the “A Little Test” Story path.
A Little Test
Players will need to fail the quiz by not selecting either of the following dialogue choices:
“Underestimating danger”, “To mark distances” and “The presence of dark clouds and strong winds in opposite directions, plus white vortices in the clouds”.
This is the Story Route for the “Once Everything Is Over” ending:
- A Special Guest
- Sailor Training: “The Shield of the Crux” or “The Spear of the Crux”
- A Little Test
- The Crux of Our Duties
- A Strange Transaction
Ending 2: Photography Class for Two
The dialogue options will mostly remain the same except for having to complete Beidou’s quiz to trigger this ending.
A Special Guest

A Little Test
“Underestimating danger”
“To mark distances”
“The presence of dark clouds and strong winds in opposite directions, plus white vortices in the clouds”
You will need to answer at least two of the three questions correctly to pass the quiz.
The Photography Crew
“I’ve heard there’s a fishing village near Wangshu Inn.”
A Smattering of Memories
“However you prefer” or “Perhaps you can strike an epic pose”
This is the Story Route for the “Photography Class for Two” ending:
- A Special Guest
- Sailor Training: “The Shield of the Crux”
- A Little Test
- The Photography Crew
- The Nameless Fishing Village
- The Long Years
- A Smattering of Memories
- Snap!
Ending 3: Flirtatious
Making similar dialogue choices as ending 2, however, in “A Smattering of Memories”, you will be choosing a contrasting dialogue option to conclude the story path.
A Special Guest

A Little Test
“Underestimating danger”
“To mark distances”

You will need to answer at least two of the three questions correctly to pass the quiz.

A Smattering of Memories
“Maybe go for something a little… flirtatious?”
This is the Story Route for the “Flirtatious” ending:
- A Special Guest
- Sailor Training: “The Shield of the Crux”
- A Little Test
- The Photography Crew
- The Nameless Fishing Village
- The Long Years
- A Smattering of Memories
Ending 4: Between Us
To unlock this ending, you will be making completely different dialogue choices when compared to the first three endings.
A Special Guest
“Why would I? I should be thanking them for taking me to Inazuma.”
Private Chat
“I think it’s Qingce Village, just very badly drawn.”
This is the Story Route for the “Between Us” ending:
- A Special Guest
- Private Chat
- Qingce Village Treasure Hunt
- Honorary Villager
Ending 5: Sakura Blooms Upon Guili Fell
Players are required to select a different dialogue choice during “Private Chat” to unlock this ending. The dialogue choice for “A Special Guest” remains the same from the fourth ending.

“Why would I? I should be thanking them for taking me to Inazuma.”
Private Chat
“I think it’s Guili Fell, just very badly drawn.”
This is the Story Route for the “Sakura Blooms Upon Guili Fell” ending:

- Were You Expecting Something Else?
- Poetic Treasure
- To the Rightful Owner, Returned
If players opted to do the quiz in “A Little Test” to unlock the “Photography Class for Two” and “Flirtatious” endings, these are the quiz questions and their answers:
Question: “What is the single biggest danger facing crew members?
Answer: “Underestimating danger”
Question: “What is the purpose of the various colored lines in supplementary charts?”
Answer: “To mark distances.”
Question: “How can we reliably predict watersprouts, so we can avoid them?”
Answer: “The presence of dark clouds and strong winds in opposite directions, plus white vortices in the clouds.”
Furthermore, you will need to complete a treasure hunt in Guili Plains if you wish to unlock the fifth ending, “Sakura Blooms Upon Guili Fell”. The treasure chest is located northeast of the search perimeter, close to a light pillar monument. Dig around the area to unearth the chest.
It is important to note that players can replay this event multiple times to unlock each event ending and its related achievements and rewards to fully complete this Hangout Event. Furthermore, replaying the event won’t require Story keys to unlock meaning players can play the event again for free.
