Genshin Impact leaks reveal Sumeru region

The world of Teyvat may be expanding quite soon with recent leaks revealing a new region is coming to the game. While there was some information on all seven regions when the game was released last year, there are still plenty that has yet to be revealed about those currently not in the game.

The latest leaks making the rounds online have detailed information regarding the Sumeru region. With very few details to go on and many questions that have remained unanswered, here is what we know about the desert region.

Genshin Impact: What do we know about the Sumeru region?

Known for its abundance of deserts and forests alike, the Sumeru region is the home of the God of Wisdom, a Dendro Archon whom many of the region’s inhabitants worship. As such, those that possess Dendro abilities would have a high affinity for the environment as they utilise plant-based attacks when in combat.

Based on the leaked images by a Redditor, the proportion of Sumeru City appears to corroborate with released in-game images and footage from multiple points of interest (POIs). The Redditor further commented that the city can’t be compared yet, in terms of size, based on the images alone. Even so, they did state that “it looks small” as it could be “as tall as three Wangshu Inns stacked on top of each other”

According to the game’s travelling merchant, Liben, the region is “all rainforest and desert” which perfectly explains a fairly large and ancient tree that takes pride of place in the region’s main city. Naturally, all the buildings and structures are built into and surrounding the base of the tree.

What would also catch the attention of Travelers is that there’s plenty of greenery and plant life sprawling around. Several of the city’s bridges make use of the tree’s vines and roots to transport its inhabitants to and from with platforms nestled beneath the tree’s roots.

As with all Genshin Impact leaks, it should be taken with a pinch of salt, as the images may have come from previous builds. The Redditor made mention of this as stated that the images are unfinished and that they are unsure from which build these images are derived from
