Genshin Impact 2.7 update is here, and with that, travelers finally have access to a bunch of new world quests. Wherefore Did the Spiritstone Descend is among the many quests in the latest Genshin Impact version that unlocks as soon as you complete Perils in the Dark world quest.

Wherefore Did the Spiritstone Descend rewards players with a handful of primogems, mora, adventure XP, level up XP, and other valuable resources. However, completing this quest is a daunting task, so we’ve put together all the steps required to complete Wherefore Did the Spiritstone Descend quest in Genshin Impact.

Before moving forward, you need to complete the following challenges before activating ‘Wherefore Did the Spiritstone Descend’:

• The Chasm Charters

• Surreptitious Seven-Star Seal Sundering

• Chasm Spelunkers

• The Heavenly Stone’s Debris

• Perils in the Dark

To activate the quest, speak with Zhiqiong, who can be found in the south of the Nameless Ruin. After having a short conversation with Zhiqiong, head south towards the campsite with her and unlock the waypoint. Once at the location, talk to Zhiqiong again to open more areas on the map. 

During your final conversation with Zhiqiong, she will ask you to open a gate using the Curious Cube (Key to a Stony Hall) you obtained from the previous quest. After entering the gate, make sure to grab the Lumenstone Ore as it is required to upgrade the Lumenstone Adjuvant gadget in the future. From there, you need to find a cave on the west side of the gate. Move ahead a bit further down in the main tunnel to progress the quest.

At this point, you will encounter a cutscene that will reveal more areas on the map. Now, head to the southwest from the current location, where you will need to purify the giant crystal at the cavern’s center by recharging five mechanisms. These mechanisms can be recharged using Lumenspar Adjuvant gadget, so make sure to have it in your inventory beforehand.

Each crystal takes at least three energy bars, and players also need to beat some enemies. However, you can easily complete this task if you get some Lumenstone upgrades at one of the explorer’s camps in the first place. Once you’ve accomplished the objective, stand close to the mechanism until it’s fully charged.

After that, you will have a short conversation with Paimon. Once the cutscene ends, glide northeast towards the glowing pillar where you will come across another cutscene. Next, you will have to fight against a world-class boss, Ruin Serpent, and bring down its HP to around 20%. The boss gains energy from the purple blob on the ground. Therefore make sure to destroy it to damage the boss. The game will trigger the final cutscene once Serpent’s HP is around 20%.

After the cutscene, return to the campsite and talk to Zhiqion. Finally, players need to teleport back to above ground and talk to Muning. After that, the Wherefore Did the Spiritstone Descend world quest will be marked as completed, and you will get the following rewards for your effort:

• 40 Primogems

• 30,000 Mora

• 350 Adventure XP

• 6 Mystic Enhancement Ore

• 3 Hero’s Wit
