Genshin Impact Windtrace: How to unlock Inazuma Contested Zones

The Genshin Impact version 2.4 update marks the return of the Windtrace event, in which developer miHoYo has introduced several new features and content to better balance the event.

This refreshed version of "Hide and Seek" will see Travelers play Windtrace on several areas or "Contested Zones" to earn Windtrace Coins.

However, before participating in the Windtrace event, Travelers must meet a specific prerequisite to play in some zones. This guide details how to unlock the Contested Zones located in the Inazuma region, available during the Windtrace re-run event.

How to unlock the Inazuma Contested Zones?

Several areas or "zones" are randomly selected for Travelers during the Windtrace re-run event. These zones should be available to them if they have unlocked all the Statues of the Seven located across Teyvat.

In particular, the Inazuma Contested Zones must complete the third subquest, "Ritou's Escape Plan" from the Archon Quest Chapter II, Act I: The Immovable God and the Eternal Euthymia. Complete the subquest for its related areas will be unlocked for the Windtrace event.

Travelers will need to have discovered the Statue of the Seven within these related areas as an additional prerequisite. The Inazuma areas in question that are locked in the Windtrace event are as follows:

  • Central Hall Shadow-Chasers
  • Amidst Autumn Trees
  • The Hidden Trials
  • Ritou Runaround

If Travelers are unsure which zones are locked or unlocked, they can view these areas from the game event's overview page. Additionally, they must have reached Adventure Rank 20 or higher to access the Windtrace event.

Before meeting with Gygax in Mondstadt City, complete all the prerequisites to start playing Windtrace in public lobbies or privately-created ones with friends. During the Windtrace event, Travelers will collect Windtrace Coins earned when playing through random matchmaking.

In turn, Travelers can use the Windtrace Coins and redeem against various rewards available for the Windtrace event. These rewards include the following:

  • Mora
  • Primiogems
  • Hero's Wit
  • Talent Level-Up Materials
  • Character EXP Materials
  • Mystic Enhancement Ore

The Windtrace re-run event is currently live in Genshin Impact for all Travelers who have met the event's prerequisites. The event will be available for two weeks and will end its re-run on 27th January 2022.
