How to pre-install Genshin Impact 2.3 update

Genshin Impact 2.3 update will be released on 24th November adding a ton of new content to the game including Albedo, Eula, Redhorn Stonethresher claymore, Cinnabar Spindle sword, Husk of Opulent Dreams artifact set, Itto story quest, and more.

miHoYo allows players to pre-install the update in advance using the pre-installation function that will be available soon. By pre-installing the Genshin Impact 2.3 update, you will be able to download major patch files to save time the day patch becomes available.

Genshin Impact 2.3 pre-installation will begin from 22nd November at 19:00 UTC, and only PC and mobile players can pre-install it. However, it is worth keeping in mind that if you are a mobile player, you won't be able to play the game while downloading new files, so if you are in between any Challenges or Domains, it is recommended that you finish them first.

On the other hand, PC players won't face any restrictions like this, so they can start the download and continue playing along with it. Here is how you can pre-install Genshin Impact 2.3 on PC and mobile. 

For PC

  1. You will first have to update the 'Genshin Impact Launcher.'
  2. After updating the launcher, you will be able to spot the 'Game Pre-Installation' option on the left side of the 'Launch' button.
  3. Click on the "Game Pre-Installation," and it will start downloading the resource packs.

For iOS and Android

Method 1

  1. Go to the Paimon Menu.
  2. Then, navigate to the Settings tab and tap on Other.
  3. In the "Others" tab, you will find the "Pre-Install Resource Package" option.
  4. Hit the "Pre-Install Now" button to download the resource pack.

Method 2

  1. On the login screen of Genshin Impact, you will find the "Pre-Install Resource Package" icon on the bottom left side of the screen once the pre-installation feature is available.
  2. Tap on the icon, and the resource pack will start downloading.

After the update arrives, players need to go to their respective App Stores to download the final update files.
